*** The Official Playstation 4 (PS4) Thread ***

I found the 360 controllers pretty reliable tbh, shame the same couldn't be said about the console. I still went through a few though, mostly due to the face buttons sticking.

I'll probably pick up Battlefield 4 this week, I'll see if it kills my R1. :D

Fantastic service from Amazon, refunded me for a new pad

Initial Question: Hi there, I purchased a PlayStation 4 pack in November, sadly the controller that was provided is now faulty, the left stick squeaks under any movement and can stick from time to time. This is not acceptable for a 2 month old item that should last 5 years, I was wondering how Amazon can help?

05:17 PM(GMT) Gladwin(CSA): Thank you for contacting Amazon.co.uk. My name is Gladwin. Could you please confirm your name?

05:18 PM(GMT) Gladwin(CSA): Hi, Michael.
I'm sorry for the issues you have experienced with your item.
05:18 PM(GMT) Michael: Its not your fault gladwin
:)
05:20 PM(GMT) Gladwin(CSA): If you prefer, I will create a replacement order for the same item at no extra charges.
However, this item in stock on January 10, 2014.
Will this help?
05:21 PM(GMT) Michael : That would be fantastic, to confirm you are offering me a new controller, however it won't be in stockfor a few days (I can wait)
05:21 PM(GMT) Gladwin(CSA): I'm sorry for the confusions. We're unable to replace only the controller, Michael.
We will replace the entire item and you need to return the whole item back to us.
05:23 PM(GMT) Michael : I would be reluctant to replace the whole package, it sounds a large effort for me to pack up the PlayStation, arrange delivery, wait in for the new delivery, and then set the new one up again. I will also be without a ps4 during the transition. I would much prefer a replacement controller solid
Solus
05:23 PM(GMT) Gladwin(CSA): I can understand your concern, Michael.
05:24 PM(GMT) Gladwin(CSA): If you prefer, I will issue partial refund of 49 GBP for the controller and you can dispose it at your convenience.
05:25 PM(GMT) Michael : That would be much better, to clarify, you will issue a refund of 49 pounds so I can order a new controller from Amazon at my leisure, without a return scenario
05:27 PM(GMT) Gladwin(CSA): Yes, Michael.
05:27 PM(GMT) Michael : That is fantastic customer service (not had to complain to Amazon before)
05:28 PM(GMT) Michael : Please could you issue the partial refund, will this be direct to my bank account or as Amazon credit?
05:30 PM(GMT) Gladwin(CSA): I’ve requested a refund of 49 GBP to your payment card which should be processed within 2 to 3 business days.
05:31 PM(GMT) Gladwin(CSA): When the refund is completed, we'll send you an e-mail confirming the date, amount and payment details.
05:31 PM(GMT) Michael: That is brilliant, do I need to do anything else? If not thank you for your help
05:32 PM(GMT) Gladwin(CSA): No, there is nothing to do. Enjoy your playing, Michael.
05:32 PM(GMT) Michael : Ha, cheeky :). Many thanks

I have got £49 refund for both of my controllers (so £98) as I have the mega bundle which comes with two controllers. Even though my controllers seem fine, was it bad to ask in the first place? But I was thinking it could happen sooner or later?!?!

Thinking of buying Zen Pinball 2 and some of the table packs. Is it cheaper to buy them for PS Vita or PS3 and get the tables imported for free on the PS$ version?

It seems obvious but I see no mention of it via a quick google (7.99 for PS3/Vita and 8.49 for PS4).

Any advice?

Did anyone have to forward some ports for their PS4? The initial update is going at approx 1.5 mb/s, with a 60 mb/s connection that provides 10 mb/s over the wireless router in the PS4's location. So basically it's going about 8 times slower than it should be.

Well my ps4 is well and truly broke....

Used to have the eject problem where it trys to eject a disk even when there is nothing in it but turning it off for a few hours fixed it.

Well now the drive wont eject a disk even when there is one in it. There also seem to be a rattle coming from the drive.

Will they give me my disk back?

buy them via Sony web store for ps vita and import them. if you buy directly via ps4 if you should ever get a vita you cannot import from ps4 to ps vita for some strange reason... but you can import from ps vita to ps4 just fine.

have a look at that link, shows you how to manually eject the disk before you send it back :)

Cheers but I tried that.

There seems to be a rattle now inside. Seems as if there is a mechanism broke inside :(

This seems to be a very large problem. PSN forum has hundreds of people complaining of the same problem.

My fingers are crossed….and crossed hard.

If nba2k14 wasn't such a poor experience with the server issues and audio issues over optical I'd say mine is floorless…of course it will break tomorrow.

I didn't manage to get one due to money but should be able to in the next couple of months. Although an avid gamer I am still thinking of hanging on for a bit longer due to lack of games, what is also a downside is the lack of news on new games. I know they will be on the way but they need to start getting more info out about some great games in the pipeline especially exclusives.
