*** The Official Playstation 4 (PS4) Thread ***

Anyone else think the PS4 is poor as a BR player? Half the time it just doesn't even play the damn thing. It just comes up with the loading icon and a black screen.
I changed accounts and it loaded fine.

I'm one of the ones who 'wanted' it to focus on the game side of things, and i'm happy they have but I've had a few frustrations recently with the poor media functionality.

Think it's something to do with the BR trying to connect to the internet. It 'sometimes' gives me the option to allow this or not when I run it but often it doesn't. PS3 always has the option.

It's really annoying me like. I NEVER want the BR to connect to the internet, why the hell would I...I just want to watch it. Maybe I missed something obvious but is there noway to tick a box that stops it doing it, forever?

Been going upstairs and watching stuff on PS3 more often than not in the 2nd living room.

That's some serious first world problems right there...

I am sure there is an option to disable that somewhere surely?

lol it's not like I live in a mansion or anything - it's just the way I have my house set up. I went for a 2nd living room type space instead of another bedroom.

1st world problem it may be, but it's still annoying that I get my dinner ready, get set up then 50% of the time it doesn't work. Could just buy an actualy BR player as I'd been meaning to for a while anyway - but i'd prefer to just use the PS4.

Couldn't seen anywhere to stop it doing it but this side of the console should hopefully improve with firmware updates. I'm chuffed with it as a games machine, and I do spent a lot of time watching BR too.

Just wondered if others have the same problem, or if I have a faulty PS4. Afterall, it has got the horrible noise when inserting/ejecting discs so wasn't sure if that was a related issue

Mine does this - makes me cringe everytime.

Gonna arrange for an exchange soon for it
 that sounds like a till receipt lol. When i first used my ps4 when i hit eject it made a beep to say it had registered the press but now i get nothing  is there a setting for it? its annoying because it feels like i have to press a couple of times to get discs out.

What's the best way to go about getting a controller replaced? The wear is getting noticeably worse on the stick after quite a bit of use over the last week, and I think it's going to end up completely falling apart. I don't want to be waiting without a controller for a replacement. The PS4 is from John Lewis and so came with 2 Years warranty, will it cover just the controller?
