*** The Official Playstation 4 (PS4) Thread ***

I didn't manage to get one due to money but should be able to in the next couple of months. Although an avid gamer I am still thinking of hanging on for a bit longer due to lack of games, what is also a downside is the lack of news on new games. I know they will be on the way but they need to start getting more info out about some great games in the pipeline especially exclusives.

See in a weird way I love console launches as everyone usually has one good multiplayer game so all of ocuk is forced to play together rather than a disjointed community as each new aaa game is released. For the 360 it was pgr3, it seems to be bf4 this time around.

Sticky R1/L1 buttons is an easy fix, you can pop them off with a small flat screw driver, clean the 2 guides they sit on and put something like Vaseline on them to stop it happening again.

I did mine about 30 BF4 hours ago and no issues since.

buy them via Sony web store for ps vita and import them. if you buy directly via ps4 if you should ever get a vita you cannot import from ps4 to ps vita for some strange reason... but you can import from ps vita to ps4 just fine.

Also, be careful when buying, as not all the PS3/Vita tables are available on PS4.
The SFII table is a notable unavailable one, which is a shame, as it was my favourite on PS3.

My R1 button got BF4'd from constant spotting today i noticed it has barely been sticking at all now and works perfectly fine. The left thumbstick issue i am yet to see as the sticks have no rubber missing.

I was a bit disappointed with the button sticking issue but it seems to have passed now. I hope i dont have to go through several controllers for my PS4 they are quite expensive to buy and dont think game stop would really do anything about it if i went in.

I'm wondering if the controller issues are something to do with being manufactured in China / Japan. Having received a console from each I noticed that the controllers when new had the protective film in different places. A friend had the one and us the other, his controller is wearing on the sticks and it gets used less than ours. Different suppliers for the materials in the two regions perhaps?

Those with sticky buttons and/or wear to the sticks might be worth noting where your console was made to see if there is any consistent culprit.

I'm starting to get sticky square and r1 buttons, also a ultra thin layer of rubber 4mm in length mysteriously appeared peeling off my left stick, its like the rubber has air bubbles trapped in it.

I have got £49 refund for both of my controllers (so £98) as I have the mega bundle which comes with two controllers. Even though my controllers seem fine, was it bad to ask in the first place? But I was thinking it could happen sooner or later?!?!

IMO yes as if everyone did that they would soon scrap that idea even for people with genuine faulty controllers and make them jump through hoops to get the problem sorted.

Really looking forward to buying a PS4, but always wait to see what launch brings in terms of reliability and feedback.

Looks like I'll be waiting for three things to be addressed before I buy one:

1) Thumbstick rubber wearing fast and trigger buttons sticking problem. Also improved battery life would be nice but not essential.

2) Confirmation we will get older Wheel support in games as I have a Logitech Driving Force GT and still no news if driving games on the PS4 will support it (one of my preferred type of games). Again not essential as I have the PC for driving games with a wheel.

3) Some more game releases. Current line up doesn't really tempt me at the moment.

Console itself looks nice - easy for developers to take adavantage of and many games will be 1080p it seems. Can't believe Microsoft fell into the trap of the PS3 Cell CPU - making their console harder to develop for than the competition due to ESRAM optimisation considerations to get performance up to PS4 standards.

It's like a role reversal for developers this generation, although cell was probably harder than ESRAM.

I can't see why anything other than 3) would delay me in purchasing one? I mean 3) is an important factor. 1 & 2 might never be addressed.

Just off the phone from sony.

Has to get passed onto headoffice as I cant get the game out.

Any chance they will give me a voucher to download it from the psn? or replace it with a hard copy? Or none at all

Deffo a good idea mate, why don't you get the PS4 refunded as well incase that goes wrong as well. I hear there are some issues....

What has really happened is that you have chanced it and fraudulently received money back that you were not due.

Amazon seem to be pretty inconsistent. Others have been offered the refund for the controller, others have been told to contact Sony as there's nothing Amazon can do.

Thanks. I compared the PS Vita and PS4 addons pages and only bought the VITA tables that are already available on the PS4. The tables loaded and imported into both versions fine.

Got to say it is so much hassle and time consuming buying and downloading multiple items on the web store. Just felt like I was clicking forever to download the game, the trial tables, the unlocks etc. Still all done now.
