*** The Official Playstation 4 (PS4) Thread ***

What's the best way to go about getting a controller replaced? The wear is getting noticeably worse on the stick after quite a bit of use over the last week, and I think it's going to end up completely falling apart. I don't want to be waiting without a controller for a replacement. The PS4 is from John Lewis and so came with 2 Years warranty, will it cover just the controller?

Take it back to John Lewis but also raise the issue with Sony EU support so they are aware that this is a wide spread problem.

Hmm should I be worried? My ps4 just took from when you choose language on FIFA 14 about 3mins to load ? Or is that ea servers reacting slow it took ages for it to attempt to connect :s

When i first used my ps4 when i hit eject it made a beep to say it had registered the press but now i get nothing  is there a setting for it? its annoying because it feels like i have to press a couple of times to get discs out.

Mine's the same, occasionally it seems to take a couple of taps to get it to eject.

It only beeps when you press the eject button with no disc in the drive.

Anyone's DS4 R2/L2 triggers squeaking? Any cure for it? It's driving me insane.

Bought a blue one from Tesco so might just take it back and try the "it's faulty" approach :D.

No but my l1 is starting to stick and the left thumb stick is made of cheese, just falling apart, i need to pick up some covers for them. ridiculous how fast the pad seems to disintegrate

Seems to be a lot of similar reports across many forums... not good!

Really looking forward to buying a PS4, but always wait to see what launch brings in terms of reliability and feedback.

Looks like I'll be waiting for three things to be addressed before I buy one:

1) Thumbstick rubber wearing fast and trigger buttons sticking problem. Also improved battery life would be nice but not essential.

2) Confirmation we will get older Wheel support in games as I have a Logitech Driving Force GT and still no news if driving games on the PS4 will support it (one of my preferred type of games). Again not essential as I have the PC for driving games with a wheel.

3) Some more game releases. Current line up doesn't really tempt me at the moment.

Console itself looks nice - easy for developers to take adavantage of and many games will be 1080p it seems. Can't believe Microsoft fell into the trap of the PS3 Cell CPU - making their console harder to develop for than the competition due to ESRAM optimisation considerations to get performance up to PS4 standards.

It's like a role reversal for developers this generation, although cell was probably harder than ESRAM.

We have two controllers and are quite low usage players, I've completed Killzone & the Mrs has put about 8 hours into FIFA. Neither of our controllers are showing any signs of wear whatsoever....

On the flipside, the PS4 on display in GAME I saw today had both controllers missing the rubber off the left thumbstick, almost as if someone had chewed it off!

Battery life on the controllers isn't as good as it was on the 360 but it's nowhere near as bad as people are making out & I find they charge pretty quickly too.

My PS4 controller has a sticky R1 button (probably from constant spotting on BF4) but I've only put like 4-5 hours of BF4 into it. It does pop back if you push the left side of the button but sticks if you push the right side... not very good.

Put it this way, I've had the same Xbox 360 controller since 2005! and all the buttons still work perfectly. The rubber on the sticks maybe almost down to the plastic after hundreds and hundreds of hours of gameplay but everything else works perfectly. Not sure if I'd get this from the PS4 controller!
