*** The Official Playstation 4 (PS4) Thread ***

Can confirm, I am incredibly offended that other people think my Blue and red pads look tatty....

Naaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat :p

Standby is 100% useless for updates. It's good for pushing downloads to the console though.

I usually turn the console off unless its the day before the monthly psn plus so I can push the monthly free game to it.

Hopefully they fix it so that updates are automatically pushed
This is incorrect - its not 100% useless. Vast majority of my updates have downloaded in standby, I think only twice when Ive noticed they havent (outside of installing firmware updates)

ps3ud0

+1, I generally shove my PS4 into standby rather than a full power off and not once have I had to download an update they have always already downloaded in standby.

There's disliking things and that's of course fine, I'm just noticing that for some people, disliking something is no longer enough, they've got to start attributing more negatives to the thing they dislike to reinforce it. It just comes across as a bit odd that the wrong shade of blue is the difference between tacky or not, that's quite a fine line.

This post is tacky :)

Another PS4 game lacking AF, I wonder if they have a problem in the SDK or one of their tools.

Interestingly, anisotropic filtering is absent from the game - not unlike a number of other recent PS4 releases - though in fairness, its absence only becomes visible when pressing up against the wall and it's not a serious detriment to image quality.

does AF actually do anything?

Yes.

basically makes things clearer the further away they are and stops them from turning into a blurry mess then

i've always just set it to hit's highest one anyway since it usually had zero hit on FPS, but good to know it actually does make a difference

Yes which is why I'm confused why at least 3 games now on the PS4 don't have it enabled (Thief, Dead Nation and Strider) Yet Strider does have it enabled on all the other versions including the PS3 version which makes me think there is a problem with the SDK or one of the tools they are using to make PS4 games currently.
