Lost some more man points today, jumping like a lil girl at various Outlast bits.. Worse still my missus was present for one of em, whilst she didn't even move.. Take the shame !!

It's not what's on the screen, but the horrifying sound effects that blasting out of my speakers. 5.1, rear surround up maximum. If I turn them down, it's a cake walk. At high volume, lights off, alone.. I bet even Mr T would be scared...

more money to be made on older consoles.

GTA should be hitting PS4 but I can't really see myself buying it tbh, I already completed it on PS3 and the online was a joke, have heists even been released yet?

It's sad days when games like saints row (the original) had a 10x better online gaming experience and game modes than the best selling game ever that is also like 10 years newer
 
True but it really would have been a statement and 2 great games into the bargain. I probably will purchase GTA again. As nice as the graphics were they were instances of jaggy's and pop up on occasion. It could really do with some PC or next gen polish and it would look unreal. Plus Trevor was freaking mental!

I've got enough coming through the door over the next few months though. This month Thief and Lego Movie then in March, Second Son and MGS plus I'm still playing AC:Black Flag and FIFA. Might trade COD for Battlefield as well for my online FPS fix.

How can people be bored! haha.

You'd be excluding a massive audience of gamers that way (plus sacrificing a lot of money) and TLoU - one of the finest games of recent years - would have received a fraction of the attention it otherwise deserved.

I'm sure a next-gen version would be pretty, but I'm glad it was a PS3 title. If they decide to do a PS4 re-release so be it, but there's a lot more I want to see from next-gen games than just improved graphics and dragging games from the previous gen into this one isn't going to accomplish that.

Fifa 14 is dire and this is coming from someone who has mainly played Fifa on his PS3 for the past few years.

COD is dire as well, coming from someone who has owned practically all of them since COD the original.

BF4 is great when your on with the rest of the PS4 crew on here otherwise it can be a bit boring

War Thunder - is great

Lego Marvel Super Heroes - childish but the wife likes it so it's got her into gaming at least

What's this new Lego game all about is it the same sort of thing as Marvel version?

if so i'll wait til it's £15 then buy it, not worth £50 or whatever price it will be launched at.

i think console gaming as a whole is deteriorating, developers are churning out crap and focusing on milking people for cash it seems. even rockstar have went that way with all the changes they made to GTA 5 online even though it had HUGE problems.

again i'd rather wait till GTA 5 is £20 then buy it than pay £50 when it's launched, online was a huge let down and i don't play games twice i would want it for online only.
 
Fifa is the best installment yet. I don't agree that console gaming is deteriorating either. Maybe our standards are just increasing :p

it's all over the top through ball spam, kick off glitchers and generally terrible. OP headers, as well as stupid game mechanics and flaws in the engine (rubber banding and mentality of players when you change mentality of team).

corners are also awful, CB's aren't even inside the box when your defending them at times and if they are they are usually on the edge rather then near 6 yard box. makes it really easy to score from them basically.

the game is truly awful compared to older versions. they nerf things which don't need nerfing and make other things so OP that's all people do basically.

yet to play a game where the opponent doesn't just spam through balls over the top constantly.

it's nowhere near realistic, it's basically fifa 14 stoke edition

Nope, I enjoying catching up with my mates either online or on the sofa blasting away on some FIFA, also a great game with the guys before we go out.

COD is dire as well, coming from someone who has owned practically all of them since COD the original.

For some mindless blasting I enjoy it, it frustrates me and it's not as enjoyable as MW/MW2 but in small doses it does the job for me.

It's a great game for meeting new people, getting involved in a team and helping each other out (opinion based on PC version)

Exactly, I 100% completed this with the GF. It's good to play some games together and she enjoys it.

Based on the Movie and got it pre ordered at Amazon for £22.00.

I keep thinking the industry is going downhill...but if you look back without nostalgia influencing you then it's always been like this.

For me though, I just feel I have very little patience these days. I started gaming when I was 5 or 6 years old and I'm now 28.

Like most gamers now...I have a very busy life so games have to come out and really give me a reason to keep playing or I'm moving on. Not only are we all busy, but there is a huge vault of media and entertainment available everywhere and a lot of it is of better quality than it ever has been.

TV series, movies, sports are all so much more accessible now than they were years ago and the quality is better, the way we watch them is better and easier.
Gaming has a lot more competition and an audience that is harder to impress and that are busy with other spects of their lives.


They may not have gone backwards, but they need to step it up IMO to keep people motivated to play. Instead, they seem to be conning people into playing rather than just offering a great experience.
 
Just called to get my PS4 replaced, randomly spitting out the disc isn't fun!

They are collecting tomorrow but the replacement could take 7 days.

I thought the process was to just collect and swap at same time :/

Can you not exchange it with the retailer ?
