*** The Official Playstation 4 (PS4) Thread ***

Nice, so wish it used an authenticator app though.

Its better then nothing, and it works the same as EA Access (origin on PC) etc... Remember chaps to make a note of your backup codes in case you misplace your mobile phone.

I do feel better about having 2Factor enabled, but why it took Sony so long, and how many reports have we had of account breaches - even just in this thread?

Good job Sony, but erm maybe you should have done this from erm, say 2006?

EA uses authenticator app unless thats something different your talking about, as I recently enabled it on EA.

Ah ok I don't use that, I just use the mobile text authentication. I login to EA Origin on my PC and it will text my mobile number a code and I enter this in and I can access my origin account, same as what Sony are using.

Years before anyone else? Bold but unlikely - this is Sony...

I notice its using the same SMS as Steam so using the same service?

ps3ud0

:D I know.. In fact I'm not even sure when MS added 2FA - that must have been around 2010? But I like to think companies should be over overachievers.. . lol hmm moving on.

Its also using the same SMS as EA Origin, so I guess EA, Steam and Sony are all using the same service?

But its good they added it finally.

Good to hear about the increased security, a little late for me unfortunately but still good for going forward.

For a little update on my situation with PSN, I rang them back last night after more than 48 with no update or even an e-mail to confirm what's going on (despite me asking for an e-mailed ref number).

It's still in progress, and I'm still £120 out of pocket. We are now approaching 72 hours since the first call, and 6 days since being suspended (7 days since the fraud). Not exactly a swift turnaround, kthxSony.

I watch NowTV, Amazon Video, NetFlix and YouTube all through PS4 - I didn't realise how much being suspended would bother me! With all the little scrotes that call me all the names under the sun in Rocket League, it would be me that's suspended for being defrauded.

Is the entire console suspended? Do you need to log in to PSN to access YouTube, etc? Could you create another local account and try watching through that?

Little update, unbanned this morning after another live chat with PSN. No refund yet, but the money is now sat in my PSN wallet.

They've advised they're still working on this, and I should get my PayPal refund shortly.

I'm actually not sure but I can't say for sure now, wish I'd have tried that first mind!

Someone hacked you then, wingman? I got hacked a few months back and pretty much got a refund within 2 days. Was actually really impressed with it, just could have been avoided to begin with.
