*** The Official Playstation 4 (PS4) Thread ***

You mean exactly like an original Xbox One...?

Nope, the original Xbox was useless in that regard, not quite AV rack width and wasn't actually flat on top, it was kinda domed so putting stuff on top of it was a balancing act.

At least consoles are wireless these days so you don't have to look at then.

And all they've done with that is created more whinging from the "Master Race" about having to play in compressed 720p at 30fps. They want native ports of Uncharted or nothing.

Easily remedied by just opening it up and using a can of compressed air on the heatsink and vents.
I might have to. It's normally quite loud, but this was just ridiculous. Then again, I'm not sure I ever used it when it was this warm out.

I'm wondering if how clean somebody's house is plays a part in how loud their console is. My PS4 never ramps up to the levels described by some people.
Some people get lucky. Thermal paste application is very 'iffy' on the PS4, especially the early ones. Some people get really shoddy efforts and have loud PS4's from Day 1(like me). I've got a clean room and it actually builds up surprisingly little dust.

I haven't cleaned out the PS4 internally since I got it about a year ago, so dust buildup could be causing the extra excessive noise right now, but in general, I dont think this is at all the problem when most people complain about a loud PS4.

NEW PS4 SLIM! why they dont add a usb port on the back like the competitors do!! i like to hide the PS wireless headset usb dongle!!

Can I use an Xbox One controller though?

The service will die fast if they don't let people use their preferred controllers.

No, that's the reason why there is an adapter now available. But I really don't think the success of PS Now is going to depend on the input peripheral..

It depends on the game. You can't get the SIXAXIS functionality required in things like Killzone 3 or Uncharted 1 grenade throwing on an Xbone controller.
