*** The Official Playstation 4 (PS4) Thread ***

Is there something I'm missing but why are there so many people hiding their trophies and other details lately when you look on their profile. I'm seeing more and more people with name - and nothing else.
 
My PS+ subscription expired back on the 18th of this month.
Expected to see a paypal charge for £40 from sony but nothing.

On the 20th I get an email from them saying sorry your PS+ subscription has expired - we've tried to take payment and hope you will renew.

I jump online - pay for a code from cdkeys and enter it into the PS store on my PC.

Today look at my bank account - £39.99 charge from paypal - funnily enough from sony! - according to paypal this was paid on the 18th!

wtf are they playing at! - better give me my monies back! - stuck on phone to support for past 20 mins - there goes another 40 quid in call charges!

so auto renew was switched on?
 
I've never switched it off bud! - Never had a problem auto renewing in the past but this time I got an email from them on the 20th stating:

Your PS Plus membership has expired | Renew your subscription now
We don't want it to be Game Over
Your playstation Plus membership expired today and we couldn't automatically renew it - we did try our best! You can no longer access PS4 online multiplayer or any of your monthly games. Renew now and stay where the players are

I hardly use my PS4 nowadays - but me son does hence why I quickly jumped online and bought a code - thinking maybe my account was low on funds or something at the time they tried to auto-renew.

Obviously not the case as they've taken the funds from my paypal account on the 18th!!! [email protected]

fair enough, if they said they tried and couldn't take funds but then charged you anyway its their error.
 
40 minutes later just to be told "oh yeah we understand completely but Playstation policy does not allow refunds" - like wtf!

Anyways - he asked me to forward the email stating it hadn't renewed to them, I've fired it off - then have to call them next week to chase it again.

So they screw up - then I have to pay for it and chase them like a dog to get a refund. Right flippin farce.

I'm a man of principle - I've spent a fortune with PSN over the past couple of years and if they are willing to lose by business over something that was their mistake so be it - I can see this not ending well.

Oh well - lucky I got an xbone a couple of weeks ago lol

Luckily the guy was pretty clued up this time, told me to ignore the generic crap they sent me and its being escalated.

Just somat to keep an eye on chaps - claims they can't take the monies from your account when they already have!
 
It's 2016. Why is it that my PS4 takes 5 hours to download a 300MB update when every single other device in my house could download that in minutes? And that's just a system update - after this I then have a further 2.4GB BF1 update to download.

Might as well just trade the piece of **** in and call it a day. **** you Sony.
 
It's beyond a joke. I'd love to meet the Sony CEO and give him a slap for creating a console that quite clearly cannot meet modern day requirements. I'm getting 141.3 kbps ffs.

I'm with you on this , 18 minutes to download 300mb :rolleyes:
 
We shouldn't have to do all of these fixes though. It should just work like everything else works. I think I've spent more time this week waiting for stupid patches than actually playing anything. Take me back to the 90s.
 
What I find especially annoying is that I cant use any online app(Netflix, Amazon Video, NowTV) unless the PS4 is entirely up-to-date. I cant just put off the system update til afterwards or something.
 
Never been effected with slow downloads myself on ps4 and xbox one.

The console speed reading is never very accurate but I can generally download say 2.5gb under 10 minutes via WiFi on VM 100 broadband.
