*** The Official Playstation 4 (PS4) Thread ***

Little Big Planet 3 is free from 7th Feb with PS+. Not played it before but was looking for coop games to play with the OH and it came up, as well as the PS+ info. Excited!

Started the Witcher, only want to experience the story so selected the easiest setting...still getting killed.

and note to self, pressing R2 in the village is a bad idea.

Also...what button is eat food for health and how do I select it?

You have to add food to one the four slots in your inventory and then it's down or up on your d-pad depending which slot you put it in. What you can do to make things easier also, is to assign one of your skill points so that when you eat a piece of food, it restores vitality for 20 minutes. I can't remember what it's called but it's a brown coloured skill.

I tried to get onto the online store and its prompted me to change my password. But when I tried to do so it says I have to do it on a PC. I tried to log into the PlayStation website and it says its sending me an email to update my password first. But that email has so far not arrived.

Has this happened to anyone else?

Uncharted 1 for about an hour.
Witcher 3...about an hour.
GTA 5, done the 1st Heist. (Lvl 100+ on my online character though)
Last of Us, played about 5 hours?

Most of them I install it, play 2 hours first day and never put it back in again.

The last month I read you were playing through it... Where did you stop?

I decided to pick up where I left off due to the sequel announcement. What a game it was. I've still to start a second playthrough on survivor or grounded.

...

I found the witcher combat pretty difficult at first, but once I got out of white orchard (pretty much after the encounter at the well) I found it got a lot easier, as long as I didn't go up against enemies that were too high a level.

Could someone explain the 2 swords?

Which one is which on the D-pad and which one is for against magical beings?

Also I got a pop up saying I need to take care of my weapons? how often do I need to take it to the blacksmith to get it MOT?

left - steel sword for humans
right - silver/magic sword for monsters

If you walk into an encounter it will automatically pick the appropriate one.

For taking care of the swords - you can check the condition in the inventory screen, it will have a %age next to it and you can use a weapons repair kit on it if it gets low

I really really want to get into dark souls 3. I love what I've played so far. I'm just having a little trouble at the beginning. Does anyone have any tips ? Literally at the first campfire after defeating the compulsory first boss.

It seems if I go left, and make it past the dying dragon I come up against a very hard to kill "knight" and if I go right.. I come up against a very hard to kill zombie thing that morphs into one of those black goop monsters.

Anything else I can do ? Other than get gud? I don't wanna run out of patience and put the game in the back burner =_=

Edit. I just wish they I included a difficulty slider. Not everyone has time to keep dying and restarting.

I'm a little rusty, but before the steps to the guy that morphs into goo you can walk back on yourself, to the right, to go up to the shrine.

Dark Souls is a brutal series of games, the most irritating thing to me is when you die to a boss and have to run back (DS1 in particular). Didn't seem too bad to do that in later games, but in DS1 half the time the filthy mob of trash chasing you would catch you as you're traversing the fog and beat you to a pulp :p

Thanks for the tips. I really want to get into it, it's just the learning curve of "git gud" is sort of putting a brick wall in front of me lol. I love the lore, and the setting.

I'll try again when I get in.

I picked up the "much hated and ****ged off" No Man's Sky for £14 on Saturday. I'd pumped a fair few hours into it so far and I'm certainly not hating it.
It seems to be around this price at the moment, quite sure it'll hit the £10 bargain bins at some point. However the "foundation patch" that is mentioned appears to have at least made it playable.

Not played 3 yet as I am currently playing through 2 for the first time. I found a nice guide with recommended levels per area which helped me understand where I should not be. Helped me a lot early on. Played for 6 hours straight yesterday. Summoned for one boss. Got invaded by another person who I actually managed to kill. I have DS3 digitally looking forward to getting into it.

I like the pace of the games and I rarely get frustrated because, more often than not, the dying part is probably my own fault!

the official guide books are really good.

So after having my PS4 from launch I finally have the blue light of death, wouldn't mind but I've barely used it! Google searches seem to be varied on what to do next, I've tried the usual trouble shooting (check cables, leave unplugged, try booting to safe mode etc) but nothing.

How does one find out what's wrong or is it a process of elimination?
