I think it was the original RDR that got the next gen patch.
Yeah it did a few weeks ago. That tipped me over the edge into buying it (again) and I thoroughly enjoyed my play and now I am going through 2. Pretty sure 2 will get patched at some point and if it does I will happily play through it another time - and no doubt pay for the privilege. It is a wonderful experience they totally smashed it with this game. Never mind GTA6 give me RDR3!

Stupid question incoming!

So I purchased GTA5 physical copy when I had a PS4. Never got round to playing it. Purchased a PS5 last year, got 3 weeks off for Christmas and thought I'd give it a whirl.

I know that some PS4 games had free upgrades to take advantage of the PS5 hardware. I also know that GTA5 wasn't one of them and required a fee.

I've installed GTA5 but can't find the PS5 upgrade anywhere on the Playstation store. Then only thing I can find is clicking on the 3 dots in GTA5 listing and there being an option for PS5 but at £35. Is that the version I need, so basically having to pay for the game twice?
Also bare in mind if you want to play GTA online on PS5 with the PS4 disc you will only be playing the PS4 version so can't join a friends game if they are running PS5 version. You have to buy GTA Online PS5 separate. As far as I can tell its pretty much the same and you can port your character, possessions and money over easy enough however I have now bought GTAV on 3 different xboxes, PS4 and now PS5. Then we wonder why they haven't rushed to put 6 out $$$$

Been meaning to give RDR2 another run through. Only just picked up a Slim so I'm relearning HFW before going through Burning Shores for the first time.

Really hope they do a patch before then but if not it's such a great game it'll be no hardship to give it another run-through later if/when they do patch.

Has the original RDR really improved that much? I imagine it'd still be a bit janky no? I mean I have no evidence for that, just guessing as it's so old now.

Someone said to me that rockstar were making something like a billion dollars a month on sharks cards  .

Good.

They need to concentrate on what they do best - single player experiences.

Forget the online gaas trash.
Like it or not GaaS makes infinite money if you can make it right, if you're fine with competitors doing that and out scaling Sony.... Then fine. If Sony could do both it would be massive.

I was really looking forward to it because factions was so good.
Fair play. Re release the old multiplayer.

But, I don’t care for multiplayer. So I am glad they’re sticking to their roots and staying single player.

They say, that they have two games in production at the moment. Hopefully one of them is the sci-fi savage starlight!

ND have a history of letting their projects balloon in size and scope (Uncharted Lost Legacy being a prime example), a shame that this one evidently couldn't be brought back down to something manageable.
