I've been watching the PS4 event from Feb 2013 with Digital Foundry. If they have the same quality of games with PS5 tech as they did then, then it's going to be amazeballs.

What are peoples expectations for tomorrows PS5 event?

We probably won't see the console, or get a price or anything remotely what we want to see or hear :p - how many games do we think they will show?

It will probably be a long drawn out event lol, I mean it's June and PS5 is released in 5-6 months and we still havnt even seen what the console looks like!!
I read today that the event is going to be an hour or so (already been recorded).

I think they'll show the console, but they won't reveal price yet.

There'll be a demo of some kind to show off the 3D sound. It may even be a Dead Space reboot/sequel after the original's writer Tweeted yesterday. As ic1male says, Cerny specifically mentioned the sound design of Dead Space in his original talk.

I think we'll see at least one remaster from Bluepoint (Demon's Souls and/or Bloodborne). Sounds like RE8 is likely. I think HZD2 will be one of the big hitters. Maybe the new COD. The usual EA Sports guff. Something from Ubi - maybe Gods and Monsters, or R6S Quarantine.

Hope we get to see the console, been itching to see the design. Think there will be a backlash if not and they will know this. So I’m going with there will be a console reveal.

hopefully a Demon Souls remake as never played that, bloodborne is too recent.

And perhaps we will get a price reveal as I see amazon have got placeholders up, £499 for 1TB and £599 for 2tb is acceptable. Might be available for pre order but perhaps a bit too early.

My dream launch game would be bloodborne 2, but doubt FromSoftware have the time for that considering they have their hands full with Elden ring. Would settle for silent hill :)

I think design/price is too soon. Jim Ryan mentioned there are more events to come following this one. So we're probably going to get 10-15 games and that's it for the hour.

The console will probably be revealed on the PS blog in July, like the controller and there will be a YouTube teardown video accompanying it. Price, maybe something that will happen at Gamescom in August. Andrew House said he preferred the Apple approach of price reveal in September and launch in November. I think Jim will do the same, so a very short pre-order window.

Geoff Keighley is doing a pre- and post-show (similar to YouTube @ E3 thing) for tomorrow's PS5 presentation. Starts at 1945.

No way this console is going to be £599

I assume you're referencing the picture that's doing the rounds of an apparent amazon page that was up temporarily?

Unsure if this has been posted already, had a look back and couldn't see it.

You know that quoted 825GB could be usable right? The OS could take up the 175.

If anything, it's going to be less than 825GB when you add in the operating system and reserved space.

Code:
12 channel,512Gib Nand Chip / channel

512 x 12 = 6,144 Gib / 8 = 768 GiB x 1.074 = 825GB

*Gib = Gibibit
*GiB = Gibibyte = 1.074 Gigabytes

Ouch, what's the point of putting the time and money into their SSD. That will be filled with a handful of games, then value of the console is lost when you have to plug in an inferior one.

The one thing that Sony do well is marketing. They're well known to put out outrageous claims and then never fulfill them.

"The emotion engine can run Toy Story graphics real-time" and that infamous Kill-zone demo/video.

From what I can gather, the idea is that you have a slower storage drive for games that you aren't "currently" playing and they're swapped relatively quickly as opposed to being completely redownloaded. Of course that means an additional cost.
