OK, but before today you had no idea what the cost was going to be - people say over and over again, if it's not from Sony it's not official - so if at 4:00pm you'd got a price of £550 in your head, that was really on you.
They are offering a premium device at a premium cost and people just need to decide what value they can get from that.
Nobody, certainly in this day and age, should make an assumption that everyone has the right to purchase something.

I'm lucky, I have disposable income every month and both the wife and I can feed our hobbies. If I wanted to, I could pre-order this on September 26th.
I'm also under no illusion many would need to save, many would need to credit, many cannot afford - many cannot afford to go and buy a regular PS5.

So if Sony decided to price it at £1k you wouldn’t be angry? I think most in here had a price in mind taking into account recent releases of the PS5, Portal, PSVR etc so that’s understandable to be annoyed when the prices goes massively over that amount, someone said it’s 45% more powerful, doesn’t justify an 80% increase.

And yes I have sufficient disposable income each month to buy one, doesn’t mean I would when the price doesn’t justify the ‘premium’ device.

I will get one day 1, it's probably £100 more than I expected but still worth it imo. Ultimately the Pro models account for what 10% of the sales, maybe 20% and I can still see them hitting that with this.

For me there have been a lot of games this year which really struggle on PS5 which I hope will be resolved on Pro. Jedi Survivor, Alan Wake 2, Wukong, Outlaws, Space Marine 2 etc. etc.

I still think we'll get a state of play before TGS, or a LOT of Sony content at TGS. They need to let the price digest for a week then come back with some more reasons to consider it.

Why would you get angry at having more choice?

I'm expecting some game announcements between now and then, but I will probably bite the (£700! ffs) bullet and get one I think. The PS4 pro became the "normal" shortly after its release, and I can see the same happening again.

For a number of reasons. No one complained about the PS4 Pro price because it was released about the same price as the original PS4. The PS4 had a number of official price drops before the PS4 Pro came to market.

Now with the PS5, its had an official price increase world wide. including some of its accessories. The PS5 Pro is coming in about £300 more than the original PS5 and people are kick off about the price. Also the global economy isnt doing very well at the moment. People are strap for cash. Everything is going up not coming down. Totally the opposite of the PS4 Pros announcement.

Added there is no disc drive either! The PS5 Pro wont be an easy uptake like the PS4 Pro was.

You can get a 4070 Super for £519 and it would probably be more powerful than the GPU in the PS5 Pro.
But that's in a PC. I don't want a PC in my living room. Already have a 7900gre in my PC.

The pro is a lot more hardware than that. 2tb ssd, motherboard and CPU. I just didn't feel it's that bad a deal. It's a premium product that you don't have to buy.

Agreed 800 for gpu is maybe a little inflated but its what I paid prior to the 7900gre and what I expect to pay again in 3 years
