The hype around this is big, there's no question about that. Either way, it's going to be interesting having that hype fulfilled or being disappointed.
 
Defintely gonna buy the best version but not till probably a few years after its out as i have some rather expensive stuff to get and not forgetting it looks like i need a tv for this console.
 
I've got the money ready for this and a new TV. Wish it was releasing tomorrow. I've even already bought the TV stand! Holding out on my TV choice to see which one will most benefit with the console. Right now it's an OLED 55" C9 but that could change depending on how expensive the new TV's are.

£599 for the console still sounds about right to me.

Always go bigger!

I bought a 65 inch, which looked absolutely massive when we first got it in November, but now I'm thinking I should have gone for the 75 inch!

For me £399, instant buy day one, £499, wait a little while to see if any deals bring it to £449.

I don't think I'll be biting at £599 initially, but the feeling of jealousy of missing out might make me commit, I've got tremendous value out of my PS4, so it will be worth it in the end.

Honestly we sit quite close and 42" looks OK to me. 55" will be more than enough for where we're sat. Believe me, I am tempted but I don't think it will work.
 
I think it's a given that all games will run on the PS5 somehow.

PS4 only games will run in PS4 mode
PS4 games with Pro features will run in PS4 Pro mode

Any game could potentially run in PS5 mode but we don't know which games yet, although "most of the top 100 played" will do.
 
I think whatever SOny do with regards to BC will still be way behind MS, they have absolutely nailed it with the upscaling etc.
 
I can't see either console being north of £500 price is usually important to a console's success, Xbox 360 beat PS3 because it was cheap whereas PS3 wasn't and Sony won this round for the same reason. They'd be better off taking losses on console sales if recent history is anything to go by.
