I suspect the hype and FOMO kicked in and PS Direct was initially the only seller for a week or so before third parties had stock / could sell. I doubt there was a particular fear of ever selling out of the Pro but folk like to get in quick to secure a spot.

I had no intention of buying the thing till ChocAndGray piped up with a nice little clock via Very and their Very pay 20% offer.

Be wary, although the story is fantastic, the combat and general combat mechanic is pretty clunky and nothing whatsoever like Control. I found the tedium of it to much to finish the game. AW2 is better.

hmm that’s a good discount Tbf.

I’ve ordered now. I might do that though and if the JL is too late to cancel just return.

Not sure they have them as standard, but they do, do them on custom builds…but then they’re even more expensive. I’m contemplating getting the Edge controller from CeX as I have a few items to trade in.

Well I can no longer cancel my JL order. So hopefully being packaged and dispatched overnight.

I wonder how many will go missing in courier…
 
I have a wired gamesir which has Hall effect. Not too bothered about the wire. But the precision and accuracy of hall sensors is sublime.

Brilliant controller.
 
I've been thinking about getting a PS5 Pro over the last few days but I think I'll wait for the new Nintendo Switch instead as I already have quite a few games for the Switch and people seem to be saying that the new Switch will be backwards compatible.

Nobody knows ... yet. Most people assume it will be backwards compatible.
 
Benchmarks for Elden ring

Spoiler: in this game the PS5 Pro's GPU appears to have the same performance as a 3070ti, making it 13% slower than some people thought it would be as people thought it would match a 4070 but the 4070 is 13% faster than the ps5 pro in this game. The closest AMD GPU to the ps5 pro is the 7700XT, the performance is within 1%




For comparison to the base PS5. The game has three modes; performance, quality and RT. I've cross referenced these numbers and the base system data comes from Digital Foundry

Base ps5:
Performance mode: 1500p resolution 60fps
Quality mode: 4k resolution 40fps
RT mode: 1600p resolution 29-35fps

Ps5 pro:
Performance mode: 4k resolution 60fps
Quality mode: 4k resolution 60fps
RT mode: 1600p resolution 45-50fps


This makes the ps5 pro 55% faster than the base system; bang on with Sony's claims
