How much were CEX charging for the drive? I stupidly forgot to ask when I was in my local one this AM.

I paid £100, I bought it a couple weeks ago before pricing went crazy. and I used a voucher I had, I still think at £100 it's overpriced lol, but what are you gonna do.

CEX charging £170 right now, but it's OOS. They're offering £136 if you've got one to sell to them.

That's mad, I've seen drives on eBay going for up to £400 too.

Just ordered one online for delivery Sunday. Going to box up and trade in the existing Disc PS5 to CEX this weekend. Wasn't planning on jumping in straight away but the old PS5 plus 1TB NVMe is £297 on trade-in so might a well. I fortunately don't need a disc drive, or stand as I'm one of those all-digital heathens.

Also slightly disappointing to read that the 'noise lottery' is very much a thing with PS5 Pro. Seems to be random (although people have different tolerance) as to whether people are getting noisy fans or coil whine. My current 2022 PS5; Disc model is pretty much quiet on the dashboard and PS4 games (playing a lot of Dragon Age: Inquisition & AC: Origins recently) but has exhibited coil whine noise on certain PS5 games; Wreckfest, for example. So will have to see whether I can at least get something similar with the new one. I do wish Sony could build something more akin to Microsoft who have had much quieter consoles for a while now, in my experience.

Re the stability of the console in horizontal mode. Make sure if you are using the drive you use the feet that come with the drive NOT the console. They are 2 different sizes. Mine went in and were nice and secure and the console is very stable.

Games I have tested so far:

Fortnite - can’t really notice any difference. Ran at close to 120fps most of the time anyway.
Silent Hill 2 - again can’t tell the difference. Not sure if the patch has installed but there are no new options as far as I can tell and panning about in the fidelity mode is still pretty jerky.
Ratchet and Clank - runs very very well even on the highest quality setting with RT. The game looks absolutely incredible!
Stellar Blade - wow even at the highest setting it runs about 60fps but the performance pro looks amazing and hits about 90fps.
The Last Of Us part 2 Remastered - again looks fantastic. The definition, the clarity and the smoothness are great. The lighting is top notch and the level of detail is amazing. Reflections on the water look really nice and adds to the depth of the game.

So far pretty great indeed.
I've heard there's issues with SH2 patch not working

Silent Hill 2 is currently broken on the Pro, actually looks worse than the base console, the Pro patch hasn't been released yet.

The rest have already looked pretty great on the base model to be fair:P

Mine arrived yesterday but only just got it set up, the nvme heatsink I ordered is too tall so gotta either get another heatsink or see if any deals come up on 4tb drives closer to black Friday

Downloading bunch of games now to test out

Does anyone know how to remove old ps5 from ps app?

I reset as required, deactivated, cleared the cache on the app, signed out/in (app), yet my old ps5 slim is still showing under the "pair a console"

Ive since paired my ps5 pro with the app.

Will my old ps5 drop off the app automatically? It says last used 14 days ago, which was when I sold it to CEX.

No idea, interested to hear about this too. I did read elsewhere that it may just "disappear" after some time if left unpaired and another device is in use.

My old one was there too even though I deactivated it but I just made the new one my primary via the app. Wouldn’t worry about it. Maybe if someone else makes the old one their primary it’ll disappear? Not sure tbh
