Only 5.30 hours to go restoring from my OG Ps5, added my M2 drive to the Pro before it was switched on along with the disc drive.

Then a ton of game updates to download tomorrow ;)

Still can't figure out where those green rectangles come from on the photo as they are not on the original image.

Depends what games you play tbh I play cod and FIFA and little apex. Cod is a solid 120fps now even on warzone and rebirth. Fc25 visually looks abit better and apex haven't tried yet but I'm assuming it will be a solid 120fps

Hmm well, I’m of the mind to say that if this is your main console, any kind of upgrade is worth it. I don’t own a PC or an XBox. For couch gaming it’s the best there is right now. For me then, definitely.

If you're happy with the image quality and performance of the slim I wouldn't bother just yet. Wait until next year to see whether new games look and play significantly better on the pro. Plus there may be improvements to the the fan noise, etc or better value bundles. Only possible fly in the ointment is if and the USA imposes tariffs on Chinese goods that may push up the price a bit but it's not likely to happen too quickly and it's probably just a pre election threat / negotiating stance that won't happen.
 
I know we're past the "waiting for delivery" stage for people, but just thought I'd update on that a fiasco Amazon has been. Two mates, almost identical situations:

Failed to arrive on release date. Contacted Amazon CS where they were told it was never promised for release date. Sent on the 7th, you'll get it on the 8th
Late last night received a despatched notification and told "Will be delivered by 10:00pm today"
Throughout today that status has remained - however no tracking information has appeared.
4:00pm - Updated to "Delivery 9th November" and then subsequently "Delivery expected 10th November"

Contacted CS again - too late to cancel, if it hasn't arrived by 10:00pm 11th November then contact us again.......

One of my mates immediately went online to Currys. Chose "Flexipay - pay in 12 months, no interest" and is now driving over to his local store to collect his.

And this is the UK's biggest retailer........

My Amazon order has been back to the depot twice and is now out again for delivery… can’t see it turning up.

Edit: Can order with Argos now and drive to a store and pick one up. To late to cancel the Amazon one :mad:

Yeah, that is pretty terrible. Amazon in my neck of woods has always been excellent. Delivered OG on release no problem. I know that doesn't help but perhaps an illustration that standards seem wildly different in certain regions. Or perhaps they've utterly screwed up this release, perhaps supplier issues between hubs or something.

Shirley it's never to late, under dsr you get 2 weeks. Just refuse the delivery or send it straight back unopened.
 
Have potentially sourced the disc drive via a cousin in the US. Total cost around 110 dollars - had to sign up for a membership (Gamestop Pro) for 25 dollars but got free delivery thrown in. My aunt who lives here is visiting there so she'll bring it back. Fingers crossed it goes through..
 
How are people finding the noise of the console in use? Myself and a friend both picked up a Pro and to me it is almost similar to original PS5 barely above ambient room noise and def can't be heard while gaming however my friend says his is much noisier than day 1 PS5 which seems strange, he might have got a dud I guess but wondered if anyone else was finding it noisy?

It's early days but I've heard the fan in mine going during a session on Last of Us Part 1, it's definitely quieter than my launch edition PS5 which was noisy but not as quiet as my Series X.
 
The SH2 patch not working would make sense. It didn’t look great when I played it and there was no additional options. Hope they get it sorted soon. That said I tried horizon and that looked fantastic. I am now playing Alan Wake 2 and it’s very good. Not played much but good so far.

I’ve got a bit of a buzz and fan noise is noticeable .

Not too bothered.

I’ve only played Astro and GT7. Waiting for the sale as I’m basically a newbie to PS.
 
Mines been playing HZD Remaster for about an hour or so now and I can't hear it unless I stick my head about 10cm away from it and then I hear a faint fan, think I might need something maybe more demanding to really test it out

My network transfer (about 500GB) was going to take like 40 hours. I just ended up transferring everything to the M.2 drive and swapping it over. Took about 90 mins total.

EDIT: Noise wise seems reasonably quiet.

Mine is jammed in quite a small tv unit gap and it's getting quite hot but not loud at all.

Tried tlou2 and it looks fantastic and tuns at 80-90fps same as ratchet and clank.
Horizon runs 60-70fps but looks incredible.
Really impressed so far.
