@rp2000 From what I've read outside of using a compatible headset I don't you can do what you're after, as I thought would it be an option to plug something like a mobile type of headphone/mic into the DualSense controller (using the 3.5mm jack) and do it that way?
Yep, I just did it now, I plugged a phone headset into the controller, then I can use that mic, and I have the option to put all other audio via the TV in the PS5 options (instead of the headset), so I hear the other players in my normal headphones.

Not ideal, but cheap solution and doesn't affect any of the other things I use my TV for. Just have to leave the wired headset on my lap while gaming!

Still sitting on the fence about buying PS5 Pro still a lot of mixed reviews ive seen on youtube

With some games running worse on the Pro I'd not be inclined to buy until at least into mid-2025.

Having said that shiny new object syndrome is real and with a bit of patience you can pick them up well below RRP.

Yeh I would have waited if I had the chance again, pssr isn't as good on launch as I hoped but I'm still sure it will come good in a few months.

I almost bought one today because I got a pretty good offer on a new one with proof of purchase but I suddenly felt like a bit of an idiot and backed out:P

The FOMO is indeed real sometimes even when I know perfectly well there's been very little actual FOMO so far, it's as you say and I'm finding plenty of offers on boxed ones quite a bit below RRP so hopefully that trend continues next year and if I can get a drive, I might bite then.

Not like I need one now to play Return to Monkey Island:P Not many actual exclusives left either.

I totally get that, we're all here for similar reasons, we like our tech/gadgets/computing and this is one of the latest offerings.

I reckon the Pro will really come into its own but it needs more time, get one now or later I don't suppose it matters too much but I think if you're being honest with yourself, you might not have a use case at the moment; I know I don't, I'm struggling to play anything right now let alone on a Pro.

But to deny the FOMO is simply lying to yourself :D

Yeah, same here TBH. I generally don't feel like playing anything lately so it'd be wasted on me anyway. I just default to browsing Extra and looking for fun stuff because I'm done with everything major. The fact that 99% of the library runs well on PS5 Amateur, and the games that don't aren't exactly saved by the Pro in many cases, doesn't help. Or they end up looking worse in some cases, which is a shame.

I think I'll be way more satisfied when I get one and drives are readily available and there are many games that utilise the console properly.

So I’ve won a PS5 Pro, wanted one for next gen GTA next year but I’m not sure what games I should look at to keep entertained until then. Spiderman I suppose, any other suggestions? Maybe RDR2?

Red Dead probably not yet. Spider-Man definitely. Ratchet and Clank, Demon’s Souls maybe. Zero Dawn looks amazing now. Stuff like that.

It'll pay off once we start to get new releases ... which will be next year with Ghost of Yutei. In the meantime I'm happily racing away in GT7 !

God of War ( 2018 ) and Ragnarok, Astrobot, Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered and HZD: Forbidden West, Uncharted series, Ratchet & Clank: A Rift Apart, Demon's Souls Remake, The Last of Us Remastered Part 1 & 2, Gran Turismo 7. There are loads more I could suggest but that lot should prevent you having to watch TV over Xmas.

Spiderman is a really good game, there's a lot of content there including the DLC. I held off playing it for an age, but fired it up when I got the Pro and loved every minute of it, reminded me a lot of the Batman Arkham games the way you could move through the city and pickup side objectives or the way the residents called out to you. RDR2 is a fantastic game, a lot slower paced than most but a massive world to explore if your enjoy that type of thing.

In addition to the games @xaldub listed I would also add (if you've not played them) Elden Ring, CP2077 with PL exp (ER and CP2077 and probably my top two games) and Ghost of Tsushima. Elden Ring is a brilliant game, you can spend hours just exploring and although the combat can be brutal it's always fair....except when it's not. CP2077 is massive, the main story alone will take several weeks to clear and then you have a huge amount of side content to work your way through and the Phantom Liberty expansion which is it's own contained story with it's own unique style.

Thanks guys, I'll see what's available in the PS store at a good price, annoyingly there's no disc drives available anywhere

There were some in stock just a few days ago ... I guess the scalpers will be having one last payday with them before Xmas. Keep an eye out at Playstation Direct, Very, Curry's & Argos - they all seem to get a constant trickle of stock every week or so. As for the Playstation digital store ... some of those titles I mentioned are 50% off at the moment eg. you can get the entire Uncharted series for £25 ( Nathan Drake trilogy is £7.99 and Uncharted Legacy of Thieves collection is £17.99 ), RDR2 Ultimate edition is £26.99, God of War is £7.99, Spider-man is £26.99 etc. For the digital store that's about as good as it gets ...
