I imagine it's a bit like the concept/pre-release versions of cars that you see with body panels covered etc, the actual design they want to protect is probably inside and that external view just facilitates them doing that.

I hope!

Strange design for a developer kit, usually they're more rectangular and designed to fit properly on a desk with a display sat on top. Wonder if some actual photos will surface at some point.

Well, they're certainly going to need to keep it cool but noway it will look like that!

Someone made an interesting point on t'Internet - why would Sony design a case like this for a dev kit when it would be 10x easier to stick with their black, rectangular boxes. Wouldn't it make more sense to be a kind of test for a final retail unit? They can have people out there now testing it in real world environments, get feedback and tweak things in the next 12 months.

Apparently, the PS5 is going to cure cancer and all the worlds problems.

Crikey - you really are a troll, aren't you.

We get it - you have a PC (sorry, you probably call it a "Rig"), and that means you are one of the "glorious PC master race", and you have decided to kick it with all us "filthy console peasants".

No one knows what PS5 will do, sure it'll never be as powerful as a "Rig" - but the good thing about most console gamers, is that we don't give a ****, we don't need to boost our e-peen :) Oh, and we also don't mind being on a closed platform either :p

A fair observation but I still don't believe it will look like a bed pan :)
