Funny that people are writing the pad off and counting on buying a third party version already. It's not even out yet, no one has had chance to trial it!
 
looks absolutely horrible. Not sure why they would make a white controller unless the console is going white. Odd. Just hate the analogue stick position on Dualshocks, always have done. It's just unnatural, the xbox controller has always been and always will be the best on the market as long as Sony keep designing theirs wrong.
 
I never quite understood the analogue stick placement argument? Surely better to have them both the same distance from your thumbs rather than offset like on the Xbox?

As someone who owns both consoles I'd disagree with that statement though I know it's personal preference.

I find the Xbox controller too large to be comfortable. The d-pad on the Xbox controller is noticeably inferior compared to the PS one. Also the shoulder buttons on the xbox controller are incredibly unresponsive. If anything to me the xbox one controller was a step down from the xbox 360 one which (other than the awful dpad) I actually quite liked.

I agree that the placement of the left thumbstick on the Xbox controller is possibly more ergonomic but other than that it's inferior in every other way IMO to the Playstation and Nintendo Switch pads IMO! Despite that I get cramp much quicker on the Xbox controller so I'm not even convinced by the thumbstick placement to be honest!

I own both myself and there isn't much in it for me. The DS4 is a great controller but the Xbox edges it. Like you said though its personal preference. I think the PS5 controller looks great.

The more I see it the more I'm buying into the design. The colour scheme as well!

I probably wouldn't buy any console to be honest. I'm not a console gamer. I like gaming on a PC as it's universal. I come in here to see if there was any more news about the consoles. same with the other XBOX thread.

For me, you left thumb is always going to be on the thumbstick and you have to put it in a unnatural position to reach it. The right thumbstick is fine because you also need access to the buttons.

I remember when I first saw pictures of the Dreamcast controller thinking "that thumbstick is in a weird place" then I held it and it all made sense. I'm a playstation guy but the Xbox controller is the best on the market (IMO) and the thumbstick placement is one of the big reasons.

I mean, it's not like I have any problems using my PS4 controller all day it's just I feel the Xbox controller is perfect.
 
I think it looks rather nice actually and i am sure it will be nice in the hand to, Don't see what all the complaining is about.

Hope it's PC compatible out of the box it will go nice with my white Xbox controller.

Some of the complaints are from quite biased individuals. I'll never understand fanboys.

I can't wait to see the console. I'd love a same day launch for both consoles :D
 
I have both controllers and I like both. Analogue sticks placement makes no difference to me although I did like DS3 sticks as they were much more precise unlike DS4 which is more like Xbox and now it looks like DS5 is using same sticks as DS4.
