Anyway Sony have said that PS5 is releasing this year as expected, we'll all get to see for ourselves soon.

Both platforms will be excellent I'm sure and pretty much on par with each other.

But would last u longer and has a huge back cataloge of PC ganes you can play
Yeah, but the thing is, there’s a huge back catalogue I can play now. It’s not like my current PC is a slouch. I’m looking more to future game releases that are built for the new technology.

I’m not spending over a grand to play a four year old game that my current card would chomp on!

Exactly. Like right now I am on a RX 580, still a huge catalogue to play. Even at 4K!

All better a better GPU does is make games available that would not be able to be run on the weaker GPU. Basically in most cases that mean only recent games.

Sweet spot is get PS5 a couple of years later when cheaper and has some games worth playing and get a 3070 or 3080. Best of both worlds.

Whilst I love PC gaming, it tends to be a solitary affair say hunched over a screen in the office. I love the comfort of sofa gaming, and have no doubt I'll get both...... Would be nice if they could stagger the release by a month or so though, as it'll give a chance to digest one before moving onto the next.
It's interesting that the step up in performance between generations is possibly getting larger, whereas the relative returns from what you actually get in games is diminishing.

Not if you plug your PC into your TV with a HDMI cable. :p It's almost the exact same experience as console except you sometimes have to do things with a mouse to get a game started.

Incorrect it was a PLAYABLE demo not just a tech demo.

About the lamest playable demo I’ve ever seen then. It’s a tech demo to show game engine, playable or not.

Some of you off your rocker if you think a full game with all gameplay mechanics, AI, story, menus, inventory etc....you know....a full game, will look like that. Can’t believe people still get moist for all this tech demo stuff. The industry has been lying about game visuals for decades, remind me how many games show off “possible engine graphics” at E3 then downgrade the hell out of them come release. Ads on tv for games “not actual gameplay”. All BS to get people foaming. Tech demo to show off engine and lighting isn’t a flushed out game.

To be fair to them, this tech demo malarky is relatively new on consoles.

maybe but point being this is a tech demo to showcase engine and lighting possibilities, graphics in an actual finished game won’t look that good for decades.

Remind me again if since the Unreal Engine 4 demo nearly a decade ago was shown, we had a game with those visuals? I’m still waiting.

Wait u have a 2070? why are you looking at a 3080 then? Skip to the 4080. your 2070 will still play the up and cming games great mate

I think people have to remember that we're probably not the intended target audience for this tech demo - UnrealEngine is a game engine, and the developers will be looking to sell/licence that engine to other developers - I would suggest this has surfaced now in the wider world because developers love a bit of publicity about how great they are.......and Sony will not have been disappointed that they mention it's on their hardware.

Its'll be interesting to see how the engine fares on the M$ hardware and whether there's a discernable difference in performance.

Than ran on a PC and on PC that's no problem. Difference between that demo and the U5 Demo is that U5 actually ran on a PS5.
