To be fair, Spider-Man and it's glorified expansion miles morales are really just PS4 games with a slap of paint over it

Spider-Man 2 is an actual next Gen game so it will be interesting to see the RT in that game and performance

They were really impressive at times though, so the next one should be pretty spectacular.

I’ve noticed more retailers doing drops but the price drops only appear to be on the disc versions.

I’ve got a feeling there will be no slim anytime soon, instead they’ll drop prices on disc versions and only make digital consoles. That’ll cheapen production and streamline it, and then they’ll release a disc drive attachment.

Just woke up to a tonne of deals.. Around £400 for console with a game is a great deal. There must be a slim/pro about to drop for them to be dropping almost 25% off the price.

Thought it was strange all of them dropping prices at the same time but apparently it's a part of the Playstation Summer sale.

I just find it interesting that there’s not a single discount on the digital version.

If I was a betting man I’d put all my money on Sony going to one SKU (digital) and then releasing the rumoured disc drive attachment.

People on hotukdeals are convinced a slims out in September but I don’t see it happening when they’re releasing a limited edition Spider-Man ps5 of the current design.

Wouldn’t make sense to also release a redesigned ps5. If that were the case it would have made more sense to have the Spider-Man ps5 be the revised model.

Time will tell I guess….

Only offering a discount on one particular SKU isn't unusual, the disc version is by far the more common one (I don't know anyone with a digital version) so I'd imagine that has a lot to do with it.

They have no real reason to clear stock, the PS5 is already selling very well so they could easily clear stock naturally if they wanted to.

I am quite tempted by a PS5 at that price. But there's a sliver of sanity holding me back. I have a decent gaming laptop, and could buy the two Spider Man games, Ratchet & Clank, TLOU and the Uncharted Collection on PC for under £150. That leaves just Horizon Forbidden West, GOW: Ragnarok and Spider-Man 2 as the reasons to get the console. £400 is still a lot of money just to play 3 games (more like £550 after buying the games). But... new shiny thing

There is a sale on controllers as well. Maybe there is just a glut in supply as we reach market saturation.

yeah i have been tempted to pick up another controller as mine is the release one. Its just a pity that they dont drop a huge chunk off the Edge controller. If it was sub £150 i would be tempted. I can get £45 quid off from ebay tech deal making it about £175 but thats still mega steep.

My Razer Thresher 7.1s have started to give up on me - there's now a buzz in the left ear, so I'm going to have to get a replacement - looking at hte Pulse 3D headset this tim around; though I only thought they were 60 quid new - seems like they're more than 80 doh!

Edit: seems it was just the rainforest charging more - found them for 60 odd quid.

I'd recommend the Steelseries Arctis 7P+, so much more comfortable than the Pulse, better sound quality and battery life too. Only benefit of the Pulse is that it's integrated with the PS5 better so turning it on and off automatically switches the audio output, but aside from that I don't rate it very highly.

Thanks for the info - I will certain take a look at those then

Arctis here too. One of the most comfortable headsets I’ve ever had. The pulse hurts my ears after a long session. I do like the integration but as a headset they are ok but not great.

The build quality is nice. But it is an indulgence puchase.
