Tried playing RDR2 again using my old PS4 Pro saves with the money cheat. After 2hrs I gave up.
I've put hundreds of hours into the game on the PS4 Pro so I thought I'd take a trip down memory lane on Chapter2 and just roam around. The motivation just died quickly as I've done all of it before. Doesn't help that the frame rate was quite jarring since there isn't a patch. Maybe I'll look again if Rockstar ever do something.

I still havent got a PS5 and play my PS4 Pro regularly mainly because i dont see much difference when using youtube comparisons.God of War Rag for eg the difference imo is negligible. I've never been someone who cares if a game is 30 or 60hz which i appreciate is a big draw for some. I imagine it'll take the PS4 to stop being supported to see the PS5 come to life.

I would like one because mine can take a age getting onto the store etc but i dont see any other reason...happy to be proven wrong.

What do you mean "come to life" ? It's sold over 40 million units already.

I’ve never been fussed either with frame rates but RDR 2 is a special case, even coming from another 30fps game, and consoles aside, RDR2 is like you’re stuck in glue.
Sorry if you weren’t referring to the post above yours with regards to frame rate.

Have games specifically made for the PS5 to best utilise its power.
Yeah! Not only are there games that aren't on the PS4 and play brilliantly on PS5 (Returnal, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart etc.) but you've also got the games that are on both consoles that just play so much better on PS5.

I held off on finishing Ghost of Tsushima on PS4 as I found the combat struggled/wasn't as fluid at 30fps - but on PS5 it's just phenomenal.

YouTube videos don't really do it justice, keep in mind you've always got a level of compression there and issues effecting quality. The PS5 is 3 years old and has sold 40 million units, it's very much fully in it's life right now!

Agreed with all this. I've played so many PS4 games on PS5 that I held off from playing because of poor performance and/or quality

Ah got it, sorry I misunderstood. The ones that have been purely for PS5 have been great, I think was it R&C aaaaaand GT7? Probably more, out of touch as don't have a PS5 for a bit.

A ton of PS4 games have been transformed by the PS5 and a lot of those upgrades have been free. It’s a no brainer for me and I have no regrets on buying it day one.

Agreed, so many graphic options to choose from too, especially since VRR was introduced. 60fps Forbidden West is stunning. Rift Apart was noteworthy too. Burning Shores really showed what it was capable of. Even many of the upgraded titles have been impressive to behold. Even Cyberpunk runs like a charm now.

Goddamit - if I read one more "Yer, but the game comes out on PS4 as well, it's not a PS5 game".
Cool - get back to me when you're playing in 4k60 or 2k60 on your PS4 - then I'll get your argument.

I exclusively game on my PS5 now. Haven’t touched my pc in months and may not bother upgrading again for a very long time (I have a decently spec’d pc as well).

The amount of profiteering and pure greed over the last few years have all but killed it for me.

Is now a good time to get a PS5? I had a PS4 but haven't used it in ages. Or am I better off waiting for the PS5 Pro (if there is one coming) and either getting that or a PS5 cheaper than £400 now?
