Is now a good time to get a PS5? I had a PS4 but haven't used it in ages. Or am I better off waiting for the PS5 Pro (if there is one coming) and either getting that or a PS5 cheaper than £400 now?
Great discounts on the PS5 right now, hard to imagine it'll go any lower until a new model comes along. But only you can decide whether purchasing one is right for you ( why haven't you used your PS4 in ages ?? )

There’s going to be so much save scumming lol.

I’m so glad an old school game not built (afaik) on MTX foundations is going so well.

Absolutely zero MTX in it (PC), so yeh, great to see it doing well.

I've not followed the link - but unless the article also includes all the prices and links to where the drive can be purchased from at the cheapest cost, it's probably an article that isn't required.
Any GEN4 drive will work (irrespective of Read/Write speeds) and as long as the read speed is at least 5,500 MBps it meets or exceeds the recommended speed requirements - people should be shopping by price, no drive is going to offer better performance over another.

And yet people in here keep asking for which SSD to buy :D

Handy then that all of the drives on that list meet those requirements, and have a link/price that you can buy them at a large retailer

Clearly - but having a list of which drives are worth looking out for when "offers" crop up is surely a benefit

My brother borrowed it and never gave it back. I probably also ran out of interest in the games that were on offer then. I'm building up a list in my mind of the PS5 games I'd want to play.

Has PS5 NVME expansion bay changed design on new variants ? Just when I opened to install mine the backplate is not green PCB it's metal (this is underneath the main cover)

Design change for better heat dissipation?

yeah they did this a while back, cause the original cover was not doing anything, the new one helps slightly for heat

As good a time as any if you've got a backlog of PS4 games to play on it. It still doesn't have many exclusives, but I suppose if you were bothered about that you'd have one already. You can always sell it if a Pro does come out sooner than expected.

It’s has nothing to do with heat, they shrunk the motherboard down for cost reduction.

There is a picture of a "ps5 slim" floating around

I won't even post it here because I believe it's fake - remember none of the appearance leaks prior to the Ps5 announcement were correct, Sony knows how to hide their console so to see images now of a supposedly new console seems fake to me

Looks like a bad photoshop. Even the curve in the front plate is not accurate to what it would look like at the angle pictured.

Bit of a dilema at the moment, kids are asking for a PS5, I already have the Series X, but I'm concerned that now is the wrong time to be buying the playstation with the slim around the corner.

Slim will be the same just a bit smaller and lacking a disc drive if rumours are true. Tbh other than size the normal PS5 has no real issues it works great. You might be able to pick up a disc version now cheaper with the reductions.
