To be honest this whole PS3 thing has kinda crept up on me. I'm getting one tonight at 12, woo.

What games would people recomend?

I want Motostorm. Any other suggestions?

ok i am back online, probably just a glitch with the load.
The background downloading is nice, after you select your location to save to you get the option 'perform in background' then under network in the XMB there is Download management :D
 
Does anyone here think £35 for a 3 yr extended warranty (3 in total) is good?

Apparently it covers accidental damage too which is good when 2 ankle biters will be sniffing around it :p

If your planing on keeping the console then yes its worth every penny of 35 quid

If it is something you can add on a later date then it might be worth it. There hasnt been much report of PS3s breaking down when compared to 360s. Also, it depends on how you use electronic devices.
 
Cheers folks. It seemed pretty cheap compared to other "extended warranties" and with the added plus of accidental cover I thought it was worth a punt.

I am generally very anal about looking after things but this has been relaxed since the 2 and 4 year olds have been around :eek:
 
£35 quid one-off?

Seems a steal...unless you WANT toast shoved in the disc drive slot ;)

2 years down the line, trash it and sell the replacement for the latest+greatest :D

If its from the high street purple computer store, you have upto 30 days after purchase to get the warranty

Disappointed about flow - but I had seen it on a recent list so maybe that was out of date :mad:

Might see if I can pick up a cheap copy of a compatable platformer just to have a few different types of game
 
Yesss, just playing the remote play on the PSP and now you can browse the store on your PSP and kick off your downloads!

Oooh the backround downloading is a god send + being able to stack em like you can on the 360. I like the new QWERTY keyboard for inputting text too as the cellphone style one was crap.

I have just been on and loaded £20 into my wallet - didn't take me long to spend it though as I bought Tekken 5 DR, Blastfactor, Lemmings & Gripshift... left it folding whilst it downloads :)

I'm also downloading GTHD Concept 2.0 - anyone know if this is any different to the GTHD game you could download from US/JAP store?

I have just sent my PSP off to PSPtree for repair, I wanted to tryout the remote acces thingy too... oh well.

We could really do with a "The Official Playstation 3 FAQ & Sticky thread" like DaveyD's one for the 360.

I would do it myself but just dont have time for a few days. My suggestions would be to link in all the interesting threads about Linux, Friends codes, Official PS3 thread etc into one sticky - if the Dons allow.

Anyone else think this would be a good idea?
