Just read that Ps3 will sell for 335pounds in the UK according to a magazine print-out...(see dcemu forum) :eek:

That before or after VAT? I hope after VAT since we always seem to get charged more then anywhere else.

Edit: I mean't after VAT not before :rolleyes:

I honestly dont know but the "magazine scan" says to check out one game store - the bigest in the uk. I did but not much info was given.

We interrupt our regularly scheduled CES blogathon to bring you some important industry news from the world of video games: the PlayStation 3's new (sort of) SIXAXIS controller has been honored by the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences with a Technology and Engineering Emmy. Details are scarce, but the award will be handed over at an awards presentation being held tonight at ... wait, CES! Everything is captured in its gravitational pull, there's no avoiding it. Regardless, we're not sure exactly why the Sixaxis is receiving this honor, short of it being a technology product that undoubtedly involved some engineering, but we can't help but think something in the world of television must have been more deserving of such accolades.

Yeah I read this too, although I have to admit that I do think the Wiimote would have been more deserving but then again I don't know much about the technology used in either of them!

P.S. am I the only person on the planet who never really liked the rumble feauture in controllers and always turned it off?

That seems a better pricing if it does come out at that price point, although I would still wait for the software to drop in price as £50 for a game is not in my price range :-/

I think I would like one of these now. I fancy buying a Macbook Pro or some other game capable notebook for PC <> 360 crossover titles and a PS3 for those games that are PS3 unique. Yes.

I doubt the prices will sell that in range. Plenty of oversea stores who are selling them at round 20 - 35pounds...People know this.

It is one of those things which if it is present..I will use and when it is not, It dosent bother me.

Same, I liked the feature in metal gears, on the harder levels without the map, If you used certain pieces of equipment, The rumble got faster the closer to an enemy you got, Turned an impossible game into, a jumpy and brilliant game. Playing MGS Snake eater on European Extreme was miles better than on normal, And the rumble pack added to the fun.

But i know what you mean, Other games, I'd not even notice if it was on or not.

I think it's best used in driving games when you go over rough ground or hit the barriers or something. Other titles it's not really that important.

Sony president Kaz Hirai has fired a broadside at Microsoft's Xbox 360, saying that assumptions that the console is as powerful as the PlayStation 3 "simply is not true."

"No other next generation entertainment system pushes the envelope on advanced technology like PS3," Hirai told Blu-Ray Daily in a CES interview.

"People say that a high-capacity game delivery vehicle like Blu-ray isn't necessary in a next generation computer entertainment system. But you just can't expect that 9GBs of storage capacity found on today's DVDs are going to have enough space to hold tomorrow's games, he said. "Resistance: Fall of Man simply wouldn't be possible on any other system without using multiple discs."

Speaking about PS3's launch - and seemingly extending the gaming handbag scuffle to Sony's other competitor, Nintendo - Hirai said that "A worldwide launch for any console is quite ambitious. In fact, it has never been done before. I suppose if we had simply done a mild upgrade to the PS2 and not pushed the envelope so hard, it would have been easier on ourselves. However, if we did that every time, we wouldn't be Sony."

Hirai then touched on the console's manufacturing problems: "I don't think anyone could have foreseen the difficulties we encountered in the production of the blue laser diode for the PlayStation 3, which ultimately delayed the launch of PlayStation 3. We were asking our teams to develop millions of components for the PlayStation 3, like the Blu-ray Disc player and cell broadband engine, that had previously only been produced in the thousands."

Ok maybe £40 here?

Not into importing as I don't like the idea of paying duty, would annoy me to think I'm paying £30 only to find I've ended up paying around £40, especially if it ends missing features, (i.e. multiplayer) :-/

Maybe..

Most sellers will gladly mark then as gift and as for the feature you want..You can always do your research before you buy one.

Everytime I read that statement by Kaz Hirai on different sites, it either has more bits added or bits missing. I would like to read the whole statement to see how it was in context.
