***The Official Q6600 Overclocking Thread ***

Tried all weekend to find the limit of the chip

450 x 9 @ 1.65 loads windows and runs superpi, fails prime faster than I load it

440 x 9 @ 1.65 the same as above

430 x 9 @ 1.6 primes for 27 mins

420 x 9 @ 1.6 primes for 2 hours 38 mins then fails

450 x 8 won't boot on any vcore

440 x 8 does boot and primes for 2 hours 38 mins.

I'm now thinking the beta bios isn't very good, and await a newer one.

So for the near future I will run at 3.4, as you can see from the screenie, just a slight increase in temps after 12hrs prime. I'm not 100% convinced the G0 will be any better, clocks and temps. Atleast we know the B3's run hot, and all appz show this.

What cooling are you on?

Them temps are bloody brilliant, that is under load right?

Yes mate, it's underload, and still going now. I'm using custom watercooling, single rad etc. I'm sure I can get the temps down further, but my Grandson won't allow me time to sit down and work it out, he wants me to play with his "Lego".

My first go :)

Also my first upgrade in years!

HSF is the Noctua NH-U12 with the fan on minimum. On max it drops the temps by around 5 degrees.

I'm not a speed freak so I think i'll stop there!
