You will need to divorce your wife move back into the house and get some aircon to get higher than that I reckon with those temps for a stable 24/7 overclock :D

Nice screenie mate ;)

She won't allow me to divorce her.

I'm stating to wonder if air cooling might be a better option. Maybe the water in the loop can't cool. But there again in winter it should clock great.

Have you got descent air flow through your case?

what case is it?

Have you got a side fan?

Hi Easy, I'm sure the airflow is good

Thermaltake VA8003SWA Aluminium Armour Super Tower
120 fan @ the front
120 fan @ the rear (blowing out)
92 fan @ the top (blowing out)
80 fan @ rear top (blowing out)

Side panel removed, and fitted with meshx with a 120 fan blowing in

Watercooling is

Black ICE 120 rad, fitted inside the case at the rear
Swiftech Apogee GT
Swiftech MCRes-MICRO

All half inch.

Must be like a greenhouse in there then

I seem to have got a bad clocker or something else is wrong, i need 1.5v to get 3.2 stable enough to prime for half an hour. Temps are not a problem, hitting about ~70C at this vcore. The vdroop is horrendous, often falling by 0.1v.

I always get a freeze and reboot when quad priming, im wondering if it might be due to my psu (Seasonic 500W) which has to power a heavily overclocked GTS (700/1000), and a water pump aswell. very strange

Yeah Alex my v.droop is shocking. Temps are fine and i was thinking i might have a psu problem but no way to actually check for me.

Get yourself a Thermalright 120 Extreme cooler with a decent fan. Before this cooler I was using a Scythe Ninja with which I could only overclock to 3 ghz and load temps were hitting the high 70`s. With the 120 Extreme I can do 3.6ghz idle temps are 49c and load does not exceed 71c.

Yes its stable, but will know 100% for sure over the weekend when I have more time to run a long stretch of Orthos. So far I`ve done some movie conversions which loaded all the four cores for about 5 hours, I did a superpi 32mb run and some gaming, all were stable.

Managed to bring my temps down, (thanks Easyrider). Now it's running @ 65 64 60 60. Just moved the fans around, and reversed the blow hole fan at the top, so it's blowing in.

I need to rush away now and put my tools away before "Son of Satan" comes. (3 year old grandson). Yesterday, after draining my water cooling, he was filling my res with all the "nuts and bolts", don't you just love kids and computers.

*EDIT* now 62.62.58.58

First thoughts nice clock.

Although not convinced til there are some 8hr prime shots.

What fan are you using on your cooler? Theres to many to choose from. Im looking to get the one that moves the most for around 24DB or lower

Have people found running the quad with an eight multiplyer easier to clock with compared with the standard 9 or is it just to get a higher FSB??

As my cpu doesn't like being put on an 8 multiplyer even at slower speeds, and its not the ram fault as i know its fine at 480mhz.
