***The Official Q6600 Overclocking Thread ***

What type of test are people using on Prime????

do people use custom? if so what FFT's ect is best?

And how did you get your speedfan temps right mine are way off as usual.

This is my B3 under phase change cooling. No matter what i try as soon as i go over 400 fsb it becomes unstable, runs 400 24/7 and passes all benchmarks so far.

Mach 2 GT, easyriders old Asus P5B deluxe ;) Ballastix 5300, 1.4v in bios (lots of droop) I'm not buying a new phase unit just to bench these hot quads i'll wait for intel to sort the heat issues :D

I just talked a mate's dad into buying one of these babies. I used my existing account to order it, so I'll get to play with it for a while first :D If it clocks ok, I'll order another one for him ;) (he won't be overclocking).

I posted this previously in reply to a 'Help! My Quads on fire!' thread in the CPU forum.

B3 purchased on release day back in April.

1.5v in BIOS because the vdroop is horrific, and it's been folding 24/7 at 416x8 since I bought it.

One thing i gotta say is the v.droop with these quads is stupidly high, ok 0.02-0.03 is barable, but going over 0.06 is really stupid. Might just wack my voltage to 1.5 as it'll never actualy hit it apart from idle so temps won't be that bad.

Oh and did anyone else think the cpu wasn't even close to being flat? Mine had obvious higher edges.
