Any chance u can whack up some pics showing Coretemp idle/load pls? :)

Hi there

Only pics I've got is CPUz and 3D Mark 2006 results.

Got 18,400 in 3D Mark 2006. :)

Maximum CPU temp I've seen upto now is 47c which was after 4 hours of 3D Mark benchmark looping which was the temp in the BIOS after an immediate restart, so no doubt actually in the low 50's. Idle wise it sits around 35c.

The system is still here and is in a closed case, so if you have a programme you want me to install and some benchmark I can have a look at giving it a run if I get time. :)

That is a hellish clock although 47C seems very very low - suspect it's the G0 misread problem and you need to add 15C but even so 62C is still damned good for 3.8Ghz.

One thing puzzling me is why the voltage shown in CPU-Z is so low in the screenies?

Was that 3DMark06 score with twin 8800GTX cards?

HI there

18,400 is with two ATI HD 2900 1GB cards at stock speeds. :)

The PSU is an 850W OCZ, not ideal for those cards as I can't overclock them, but the system ships with a single 8800 GTX which scores 12,700 again not overclocked, so damn good. :)

Unsure about CPU-Z, maybe we have old version here? I've being doing this today whilst doing the companies purchasing and website maintenance so I've been in and out tweaking the BIOS etc. etc. and trying to get to grips with the modern hardware.

The system boots at 4.1GHz, windows usable at 4GHz and perfect stability around the 3.8GHz area. The system remains very cool to the touch, even the Ballistix memory so very happy with it. The Tuniq Tower 120 is an amazing cooler, just a shame it only fits in some cases.

With the temps not too sure really because its all keeping cool and games and benchmarks have shown no signs of throttling due to excess heat and system fans all staying at low speeds, still even if it is around 60c like you say it might be thats still good for these speeds on air. With H20 I think 4GHz stable I could manage and possibly more. :)

Mine's up and running @ 3ghz atm....don't expect much on my DS4 R1...and not even tried to see how far it'll go go on this board as of yet....weather has been way too hot today....and do you think i can get core temp to run without a restart...not a chance...from what i've read seems to be a bug but supposedly fixed in 0.95 beta...and that's even doing the same!...oh well i guess i'll just after to stick with TAT. :D

Is CoreTemp doing that restart thing on Core 2 systems as well? Its been doing that to some A64 rigs I been building?

Yes it was...but i've ust downloaded coretemp beta...as the one earlier i downloaded could'nt have been the beta and know it's working fine. :)

Edit: Temps seem a little odd though!

Mines on a DS4 rev. 1 board, I think coretemp was what was freezing my system earlier, mines up to 3.4ghz now so you've still got some headroom. (memory depending)

Good to now theres still some left in it then :) ....my mems ok does 1000mhz no sweat....are you using the beta version?....also what vcore @ 3.4ghz?

Where are all the prime stable shots of the G0 stepping, I've only seen 3 in the whole of the thread.

Is the G0 really that good?, with the numbers sold this week, I would have thought there would be more screenies?

Lets see some prime stable shots for atleast 8 hours!!!

Not claiming stability at all!...well actually i am very suprised it's even running at this speed on a DS4 R1.0 for over the past 1hr...thought i would be buying a new board!....seems CPU will need to be lapped before i prime it.
Edited to show correct vcore in cpu-z.

First computer I've ever built, let alone overclocked :D

Set at 1.4v in BIOS

Using Noctua air cooling on Q6600 G0 stepping.

Tried it a lower voltages and wasn't too stable, don't really want to raise it as 66 degrees is plenty warm enough thank you :P

Will keep prime going overnight to check stability

UPDATE: Screw that, failed after a few mins, back to 3.2 methinks

Where are you guys downloading cpu-z 141.0 from?

I cant find it anywhere

BFG NF680I + Q6600 EE Bstepping = Crap

No matter what i do i cant get it stable, infact i cant even enter windows due to bluescreens hehe

I think its a motherboard issue becuse i have even tryed 2.4ghz stock and upped the fsb and still no go..

With a low fsb @2.4ghz the system boots properly but i seem to be hitting a barrier with my A2 rev 680I board with P30 bios....

Does anyone know if there is any tweaked bioses out there with better fsb control...

dont know what to do....

other than buying a Better board than the one i have the problem isnt money there just isnt any better boards out there that are SLI + Q6600 + work with my 4 sticks of Nforce SLI REady 8500 DDR2

best board i could see is the formula and extreme editions but there both crossfire, infact i wonder why crossfire is more popular among the best boards becuse 8800`s kill atis cards.

i have tryed high voltages aswell as low, and i cant try a high clock without high fsb dam this sucks. lol

Those of you who are running it at 3.2-3.4Ghz, what ram divider are you running it at?

I'd prefer a lower FSB to keep vcore and heat low, multiplier 9 and run ram at higher frequency, maybe 5/6 divider.
