**The Official Returnal Thread**

Remember when this released it got good reviews, surprised to see it coming to PC, definitely interested. Just glad to see more and more PS exclusives ending up on PC, shame about Bloodborne.

Definitely one of the most unique games this gen.
A roguelike bullethell with a cryptic plot is not something that happens everyday in AAA games.

Also, utterly fantastic sound design.

+1 a must buy for anyone who hasn’t played it on PS5 IMO.

My game of the year when it released!

I really liked the atmosphere of this game but I really hated the min-max it wants you to do and the fact you don't get to really carry much progression over.

If you die, you die, and it's kind of back to square 1, as there seemed to be no way to boost some of the base stats through continued progression across runs.

For the min-maxing, people were essentially saying to boost stats you should not collect stuff and then come back for it later, but the problem here, is that I find this kind of gimmick a bit meh, I don't want to clear a bunch of stuff and then have to back pedal.

This game would be perfect if there was a longer goal of boosting stats to make subsequent runs easier, I would not mind dying a bunch if it helped me long term to complete it.

First few hours was fun, then it got very tedious and I gave up on it, overhyped would be my one word review, not recommended unless you are into repeating the exact same content (albeit mixed around and a hefty chunk of RNG luck thrown in) over and over again to attempt a boss fight.

Bad time for this to launch with Hogwart's stealing all the thunder but Returnal's out tomorrow - can't wait! (plus, I got it for £35 :D) - only question mark hanging over this is how well Housemarque's tailored it to PC - it *is* Unreal 4 after all... Fingers crossed!
