****The Official Road Bicycle Gallery Thread****

Yeah I asked them to clarify and it's I'm drive mode 1, no lights on level ground.

So far I've ridden 20 miles on electric throttle alone and lost 2 bars so 40-50 miles seems perfectly possible with just throttle alone with some lights usage in the dark.

The clarification was that it's based on mode 1, flat level ground and no lgihts on.

But I tested this today with a 30 mile ride to my old workplace which includes a lot of elevation changes and wind as entirely coastal sea views etc.

I used about 1.5bars of battery doing the whole round trip and on mode 1, this means I could easily get 50-60 miles on a full charge. Very impressive.

Don't see any issues with the belt system, the carbon belt is rated to around 25,000 miles or more so it has more than enough life in it really.

I like how it's utterly silent, whether free wheeling, throttling or even pedalling. Makes this sort of area to ride around even more peaceful. Don't get that with a chain and sprockets as soon as some sand/dirt gets in the drivetrain and needs cleaning :p

38.7 mile ride today, actually a good test of endurance for the battery as had it in pedal assist mode 2 and 3 most of the time and on the return ride it was night so had lights on and in mode 1. Battery started flashing about 6 miles from home and was still flashing with 0 bars as I got to the driveway which means there's probably an extra 10 miles left from the point it starts flashing. Not bad at all that.

Got the P275 pro, it does 91-160 miles from a charge depending on the PAS mode and I can confirm this is on point, though it's not as fun an ebike as the P20 due to being so heavy/full size. It's great for cruising though but for nimble riding, the P20 is much more engaging, especially the crank as the automatic gearbox on the P275 is annoying when going uphill as it won't shift down a gear when you want it to. Both are belt drive, 275 does not have a throttle and has a fixed max speed for the motor where it stops PAS at 16.4MPH and you are pedalling on your own with 3 automatic mechanical gears which is actually really hard work lol.

There is a sweet spot to keeping on constant PAS, at around exactly 16mph, keep that pedalling going and PAS will sustain making pedalling easy enough, just don't reach a hill :p

I much prefer the P20 as a result of the extra faff needed for the full sized one, though the computer screen on the bigger one is rather cool as is a proper odometer and stuff. No official way to speed unlock it either like you can on the P20, you have to trick it by relocating the speed sensor and magnet which then means you get 30mph PAS but a speedo that doesn't work as it thinks you are going 5MPH :D

Well it happened... The Engwe P20 got stolen  They cut the lock when I popped into Cosham high street couple nights ago. Locals please keep an eye out as it's quite distinctive. The mint coloured one from above pics.

Theres a reason ebikes are nicked so often and its largely because the police give not a single **** about it. Its a high value item that is easy to sell and there is almost zero chance of getting in trouble for it. Can you take the battery off it if you get a replacement?

I would suggest getting one of the grind proof locks but they are £250+ for the good ones worth having.

Problem is I rarely need to lock the bike for a period of time in a public space, this one a one off and those expensive locks are not only heavy but also a bit overkill!

the battery on Engwe ebikes will not come off without the kley, which I have so they won't have m,uch luck with it I guess.

I'm now using the P275 Pro as my main ebike and actually it's given me a new fondness for its cruising ability which is rather effortless and the ride comfort, big thick tyres too but I do need to upgrade the brake pads and pedals as they are not great in the wet and borderline a safety issue as I found out last night.

I don't know what lock to get this time round though, a thicker chain lock would be fine but £200 for a lock is rather massive a cost all things considered, I just won't be making shop stops on bike fro now on!

Honestly mate, the only thing worth getting is one of those silly expensive ones that you can't cut through. Even then they will just cut whatever its attached to if they really want it. A good circular saw with a good blade will make very light work of almost anything and these scumbags will do it in the middle of the day with people around. Zero ***** given.
