My thoughts form last night...
What an awful (edit: awful might not be the word, but it wasn't the game I was expecting) game of rugby (especially if you were new to rugby and were watching because it was the world cup!) From the referee to the players there were far too many mistakes - I expected England to be far more clinical than that (although some mistakes can be taken into account by the weather). I thought Jonny and Clive were great studio pundits. With regards to the try that wasn't a try, but was a try, then wasn't a try... That should never ever happen. You give the try it stands, you unsure? you go to the TMO!
It just opens a can of worms. If that had of been England's try, would they have shown the footage in the stadium? The fact they didn't replay a forward pass in the lead up to a try for England half proves this. As Jonny pointed out, we need a protocol in place as someone new to the sport would be like WTF??? Secondly, as Clive pointed out, as soon as it is awarded that should be it. The way it is, the stadium (which determines what goes on the screen) is calling the shots, which is unfair (as stated above) and open to abuse.
I now feel very worried for Wales too... With England being quite rusty first game out, and wales not playing some key players tomorrow I fear we may be too rusty to put up a good fight.
But alas, Ireland will take the RWC2015 so lets all just enjoy it!
