**** The Official Samsung Galaxy Note 20/Ultra Thread ****

Any tips for battery saving? I have come from being a long time iPhone user and the Note 20 Ultra definitely drains quicker.

I moved from an iPhone 11 Pro Max to an S20+ and you simply won't get the same battery life, it's one of the drawbacks. Very happy with the switch other than this. As above, the adaptive power saving does seem to work well.

What made you switch out of interest? (And Bravetart above). I know the 11 Pro Max is looking dated, but the 12 series is due soon.

I switched earlier in the year to an S20+ rather than the Note20 but main reason for me was the weight of the 11 Pro Max, honestly felt like it was pulling my jeans down...And I managed to sell it for about 200 quid more than the S20+ cost me...

I also liked that it was Dual SIM. I got an S10 as a work phone, which I really liked the look and feel of but hated carrying around two devices, so now just using my work SIM in my personal phone.

I've always considered myself agnostic when it comes to Android/iOS and usually just get what suits me best. I'd always dismissed Samsung phones before due to the software, favouring vanilla Android but using the S10 persuaded me otherwise. Had a P20 Pro before the iPhone, which probably got me more used to custom Android variants.

In ny opinion Samsung made a whoopsie when they diluted the note model. Having lite, plus and now ultra models, just detracts from the one great device and being THE flagship.
Its not just Samsung though, BMW, Audi etc everyone is at it, can't just have the one car people aspire to and recognise as the best in its brand, let's water us down and put the same guts into every offering 1m, m2,3,4,5,6 etc , now they aren't as special any more.

I agree think S-Line looks like a sports car but drives like normal car

2 versions of a phone series isn't to bad but S10E S10 & mS10+ no need for 3

I hear you on the jeans thing - I briefly had a OnePlus 8 Pro and it always felt like the top third of the device was protruding from my pocket. It's not like I wear really tight clothing or anything, but every time I got into the car, the phone was jabbing me in the gut.

Interestingly, isn't that what Steve Jobs was lauded for? Just having a single version of each product and not diluting it. Obviously seen Apple go the other way since his death. Even the iPhone range is now fragmented with the Pro, Pro Max and SE.

I get the need to compete at different price points but that's what the A Series is for. Flagship means flagship.

Only consideration I suppose is around size. Some people bigger = better. For me, I still want a phone to fit in my pocket and not weigh as much as a small child.

I guess we can call it progression/evolution but its not always correct. One Galaxy note, bigger screen and pen than the S model, give the S model the Exynos and the SD to the Note. If you want an A range, give it an LCD screen, exynos and big battery, job jobbed.

I was bored with the iPhone and the 12 leaks didn't really look that interesting tbh. I was running its 14 beta and although its good in some ways just fancied something different

I really love how many options you have with the note they've really thought of everything!! I regularly swing back and forth between ios and android. I agree on the weight though too as the 11 pro max was so heavy!

I also had the apple watch and have now ordered the galaxy watch 3 so looking forward to getting that!

My only gripe with my note and past notes is the pen needs better art apps. I find it almost impossible to make anything meaningful using cut and paste onto another image.

I was really stoked for the iPhone 12 Pro, but with 120hz seemingly out of the picture this year, my main interest is now in the 5.4" 'standard' 12. I'm using an iPhone 6s as a stand-in device and it's reminded me how amazing it is to have a phone that's really easy to use 1-handed for absolutely everything. I've also been quite enjoying a couple of games from Apple Arcade, but have just had a look at what's available with Google Play Pass and it's not half bad for £30 per year. I used to prefer Apple News over Google News as well, but now the former is all adverts, as well as links to News+ articles you can't read without a £10/month subscription.

I did like my Note 10+ I must admit.

What is the best way to transfer over settings and app data (especially WhatsApp chats) from iPhone to Samsung? Trying to get my wife to switch on my old note 9. I tried to use smart switch but it kept failing saying not enough memory, even when I only tried to transfer contacts.

Well I know how to transfer whatsapp chats from iphone to android if this helps:
Transfer WhatsApp Messages from iPhone to Android Using Chat Backup. ... Navigate to "Settings" > "Chats" > "Chat Backup". Select the "Back Up Now" button to start backing up current WhatsApp Data. Download and install WhatsApp on your Android phone.
