Had the Note 9 for a few days now, really nice phone and it has everything I need this year, mainly, no notch and a headphone jack, add to that stereo speakers, great camera and the amazing display there was no other phone I would consider this year, other than the S9+.

Since both were pretty much available for the same price of £550 the Note 9 was an obvious choice.

Any suggestions on a slim case that offers better grip?

Check out some of the Spigen cases decent reviews and protection

Stupid Question time..

I wrote a Samsung note and then I needed to copy it to my PC
But when I plugged my note 9 into the PC I could not find the folder where these notes are saved :o

Anyone know where the Samsung notes are saved ?

If your using Win10 there is a Samsung notes app to share between phone/pc in windows apps

Or you can convert to a PDF , text or jpeg and share via email etc

Just a heads up, Samsung store has 50% off most Note 9 accessories for anyone who is interested.

Was after the wireless duo charger but out of stock there, but Very have it in stock for a similar price (£39.99)

Just typical when I don't need a case lol

I should have sold my unboxed spare wireless duo charger before the sale grrr

Had my Note 9 now for 2 months and still absolutely love the thing. Android Auto whilst I have minor niggles with has totally turned my head away from iPhone as I listen to a lot of Podcasts and the functionality on iPhones with cars has always been brilliant. AA does it just as well.

I use the pen more than I expected to, it's more when I have to snip screenshots and write in comments but still thought it would be a gimmick.. I'm now thinking it's a must have for a smart phone!

It's actually been a long time since I've had a device that I've been this impressed with, I'm on the Samsung Upgrade Program but I'm going to be hard pressed to hand this thing back in the end.

You might get swayed by the Note 10 ;)

Samsung is currently testing firmware versions N960FXXU2ZRKE and N960NKSU2ZRKF for the Galaxy Note 9. The interesting part here is the letter ‘Z’ in the build number. It has been used by Samsung for beta firmware since it began having public beta programs with the Galaxy S6.

Might only be internal testing be nice if its rolled out

Wife dropped my Note 9 last night on to laminate floor from waist height Spen shot out and hit wall 3 metre's away :eek: .. No damage far as I can tell only to her purse if it had been broken

taken the plunge on a Blue one on their Upgrade programme. Can't wait for it to arrive!

Any case recommendations? I like the idea of the Samsung Clear View Stand cover but have never had a cover that flips over the screen. Can't decide if I think it will get annoying? I've always used Spigen cases but they don't seem to do the blue/yellow one in the UK.

Depends what type of protection you want

I use LED case and Samsung kickstand case I swap them depending on what I'm doing .. LED general use kickstand if I'm going to use the camera a lot

Do any of you regret buying the Note 9 ?

What I mean by that is it's a fair financial outlay on a phone that won't be compatible with 5g which rolls out next year, I understand the ones that bought the Note 9 through the Samsung upgrade programme as you can easily change to the Note 10 when it comes out next year which will be 5g compatible.

It just seems a lot of money for a phone that won't be compatible with the new 5g platform.

If 5G rollout is anything like the 4G rollout we will be on the Note 12 before its widespread enough to see a difference

Yeah, basically what I think happened is it fell out of my pocket as I got out of a cab and was then swiped by a passerby. I noticed it was missing 5 mins after but obviously didn't know how long it'd been gone for, it continued to ring for 10-20 mins, I then managed to get to a computer to see it at the spot where the cab dropped us and then before I could get out to look for it it started going straight to voicemail and that's the last of it.

Did you send a wipe command for if/when it gets turned back on just incase

Been having issues with my Note 9 as of lately:

- I am getting notifications that apps have been forced to close due to errors even though the apps are not running in the background
- Battery drain has been really bad lately and no easily identifiable culprit either. I'm losing about 5-10% per hour when it's idle.
- Certain apps like Instagram and Reddit will randomly lock up and I have to force close them
- Old notifications that I have cleared randomly appear again after some time
- I do not get all notifications instantly, I usually get a bunch of notifications spam me once I unlock the phone after a while

All of these are beginning to frustrate me quite a bit, hoping Android Pie is going to resolve most of these problems as they all appear to be software related.

- I do not get all notifications instantly, I usually get a bunch of notifications spam me once I unlock the phone after a while <-- I have had that 1 recently too

https://www.sammobile.com/2018/12/20/samsung-backtracked-time-limit-free-galaxy-themes/

We reported last month that Samsung would implement a time limit for free Galaxy themes with Android Pie. A notice was sent out through the Samsung Themes store to inform users that they would only be able to use free themes for fourteen days after they’re applied.

However, it appears that Samsung has backtracked on implementing a time limit on free themes. There no mention of the fourteen day trial in the app anymore when applying a free theme on a device with the Android Pie beta.

Might just be the beta tho
