****The Official Samsung Galaxy S II ACCESSORIES Thread***

2 batteries doesn't make sense though does it, unless you have a charging dock?

Sure, I meant for people who keep 1 spare charged with a dock, or just manually by leaving the spare in the phone overnight.

Do you mean that other people buying the extended one are scrapping their existing 1650 batteries, (in the sense they will have 2 batteries if they buy the new one as well as the one they got with the phone).

No I thought you had 2 x 1650's without a dock, which is pointless:p Well, I guess it'd be handy if going away for a weekend or something..

I wonder if 2000mah was the original plan but they went with a 1650mah just so it was thinnest ever phone? It looks so right with the 2000mah battery... covering the lens, perfect fit..

Nah I just have the 1 battery!

I must admit the pictures with the new case look good. Probably half the reason I have the mesh case as it protects the camera lens, which this new battery and cover do automatically!

Is this new battery not less than 20% more capacity? (Original is 1650mah and the bigger one is 2000mah unless I am getting the figures wrong).

If you are someone who has/uses 2 batteries already (1650mah) surely this does not represent that great a value proposition?

I am used to charging the device every other night (based on my usage). Also (more critically) I have the official mesh case, so the new battery and back cover is not really an option I could use without changing cases.

Those with 2 batteries would generally rather have 1 larger battery and not have to deal with charging 2 batteries, and the faff of swapping them around with a case on.

First whole day at work with the Walnutt Bumper case and I have to say it's pretty damn good. It feels weird holding the phone as there's no back to the case, only around the sides, top and bottom but it does the protection job better than other cases while at the same time gathers less dust around the bezel areas and when ti does collect some it's easier to clean off than cases that have a larger bezel lip and dust just collects under it.

The official mesh case feels better in the hand as the material is rubbery and feels great and the look of the phone is nicer on the mesh case too but you have to juggle one thing or the other here, looks or functionality!

Only gripe is that the eBay dock I bought for work doesn't work with the bumper case as the bottom part is thicker than the mesh case so the port on the eBay dock doesn't quite make it all the way into the phone whereas the Zenis one has no trouble. here we see the first instance of higher premium price vs cheapo eBay price in practice for a dock :p

Some more info on that new battery from people over at XDA that got it in Europe. The guy tested 3 batteries and here are the results:

1st batt .... +26% lifetime -15% internal resistance
2nd batt .... +28% lifetime -16% internal resistance
3th batt .... +26% lifetime -16% internal resistance

May not be "proper" tests, but they look nice!

Also MobileFun are expecting stock on the 21st September.

Shopping for a new case for my S2 and whose notes do I see on Amazon? Robbie Khaaaaaaaaaaaaaaans!

I actually recognised the blue wallpaper first :D

Well I bought that perforated case. Now, just need a pouch big enough for 'in-bag transportation scenarios' and I'm set. :D

Guys,

I can get a 2nd hand White or black SII for £280. Is that a good price?

Whats peoples opinion on the white one?

If I do get it, what accessories should I consider?

- official bigger battery
- which descent (discreetish if possible) car charger
- which desktop stand
- which cover/casing (I like minimalistic and something that looks basic yet nice)
- which charger and stand for work desk

etc etc

Please bear with me as so far ive been an Apple user (own a 3GS) so know next to nothing about Android phones but I seen the light many months ago and have been sitting on the fence.

seems expensive to me for a second hand one. have no clue what they're worth but i wouldn't pay that much for a second hand one. have you checked what they're going for on ebay? you can see if that's a good price b watching 5/6 listings and see what they end up as

Just bought a proporta aluminium lined leather case for £29 from amazon, really impressed so far and I think it is money well spent.
