Ah. You and mrk do make a good point though about cooling and heating over a vent. I'll have to see how it goes. It's just that the vent is the most convenient place for me to have it for eye contact and reach for sat nav and for .. erm.. browsing :p I never had a problem with my old phone that I can recall. But if the phone starts acting up, then I'll try a different mount.

My mesh case is falling apart! A small piece of it fell off a couple of weeks ago. Today I noticed the hollow area near the power button is cracked and the matching hole where the volume is, the thin part just fell off!!

I have dropped the phone once or twice, but not very hard and it was about a month ago! I take the case off every few days to wipe the back (it picks up loads of circlar dust spots where the mesh is) so I think that has weakened the thin edges near the button holes.

Gutted :(

I ordered one of the Bumper cases that mrk linked/mentioned on eBay, similar, but extremely cheaper than the Walnutt versions.

It arrived with a cracked corner, doesn't fit my Galaxy S2 correct at all, not even going to bother sending it back, they'll just say it was royal mails fault, where the packaging was just a small bag.

Not impressed.

Think ill wait for my Extended Battery to arrive from MoblieFun and hunt for a new case for it :) Maybe them metal ones :o
 
Honestly, I think you're all wasting your money on these fancy metal cases. Just get a TPU case like mine, it will absorb impact better, doesn't cost much to buy and has excellent non slip textured side grip. You can buy them on ebay for less than £4.

Quoted for the truth. I have the black one and have been looking to get rid of it ASAP . It does its job but is utterly disgusting :o. Need to buy a metal case or the walnutt one
 
Walnutt bumper case is where it's at :p Although I'd prefer to go naked as the extended batt makes the phone much nicer to hold due to the extra grip.
 
I had the TPU/S-Line case and it collected dust a lot more than any other that wraps around the front bezel. I think I gave it away on here to someone or quite possibly butchered it in a car holder experiment I can't remember.

The bigger brand cases do not collect dust around the wrap edges like these do and i rarely have to wipe dust from the edges on the Walnutt case.

They don't look as high quality as the bigger brand cases either, this is reflected in the big price difference.
 
Mine doesn't collect much dust and a simple blow gets rid of any, what's the big deal? And a lot of the fancier cases I see posted in here look awesome but don't actually cover as much of the phone as mine, so if you just want looks, great. If you want real protection, then these bumper cases and mesh cases don't offer as much as they expose more of the phone body. Depends if you want form over function and just want to pose.
 
For anyone wishing to purchase the extended battery, I've emailed Mobilefun and they are due in on the 27th Oct. Ordered mine on the 1st October...:mad::mad::mad:
 
Well the extended battery is the best and it doesn't really extend the phone thickness beyond the already extended speaker bit at the bottom.
 
Just received my walnutt bumper case in the post today! Not bad considering i ordered it on wednesday afternoon.

Very pleased with it :)
 
I'm hoping someone makes a bumper case that is for the extended battery now, one that's one thickness throughout like on the iPhone4 bumper cases. Would be cool :p

But...

It's out of stock, still waiting on mine as they said they would post as soon as stock became available.

Hopefully i don't get one which is a pile of tosh.

Well whatever links people post it's bound to be out of stock? I only know of mobilefun as that's who I deal with :p Why would it be a pile of tosh though? It's an official product, not some cheap China made thing..

Don't take this personally, but I'm curious as to why you're so obsessed with all these cases and addons, aren't you over the novelty of the phone yet? Do you really use the phone so much that you even need an extended battery which will presumably increase the nice slim profile? :)
