****The Official Samsung Galaxy S II ACCESSORIES Thread***

Has anyone found a screen protector they would recommend? Never used one before. My main concerns would be whether it is as smooth as the phone surface (for swiping etc) and whether it "dulls" the screen in anyway.

I saw the picture of Khaaan's one further up, but the screen looks duller and a bit more grainy with it on (it could be the photos but they look like they are taken in similar conditions and I am guessing the owner is a bit of a photographer so unlikely to be the camera etc).

The one I posted in the third post in this thread is actually pretty damn good... gets "fingerprintey", but it's very smooth and visible in direct sunlight. Goes on very easily too, and hasn't been scratched yet. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=270726135062&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT :)

In an interesting turn of thoughts I've gone bac k to the Nilfisk hard case as I got so fed up with the dust collection on the back of the phone when using the official case. Plus I also realised if the phone is placed on a wet surface or if the surface gets wet then there's more chance of any liquid touching the back of the phone on the official case.

I'll probably miss the coolness in a few days and switch back, then after a few days back again. Isn't it great having 2 cases? ;-)

@Khaaan, regarding the official car mount.

Could you tell me roughly how long the charging cable is please? as my cig lighter is behind my handbrake and I'm wondering if I am able to route it behind the dash or not, thanks.

YOu don't have to use the official car charger that comes with it, any 12v>USB charger will work with a micro USB connection but the official one is about 1.5metres long.

Guys what would you say is the most durable complete-cover case for the SG2?

I need one for when I go mountain biking and the phone goes in my backpack, I have the official Samsung back cover one but it'd be nice to have some more protection.

Case mate tough case.

It's a rubber cover with a hard plastic overlay, tough as nails but quite chunky.

What is the actual part that holds the phone? I see it also accommodates the case, is this secure?

Thanks

I drove 200 miles on Saturday with it, no problems at all so yep, secure :p

The part that holds the phone (with case) is this holder:

You could just use that holder as is because it's pretty rigid by default but mine was a bit dodgy on the suction cup as the twist lock on it worked itself loose while driving around as it wasn't as tight locking as it should have been hence why I modded it into my DIY mount via the Garmin suction holder.

Also, anyone getting the Nillkin case keep an eye on your case's screen edge on one side, I just noticed something on mine:

The top left lip slopes down getting that corner front close to the edge. Some kind of manufacture defect by the looks of it.

Awesome, thanks. My Nillkin case is exactly the same. My other two (case mate barely there and the official one) are fine though.

Can someone recommend me a decent screen protector?

At the moment i know of none on the market that are 'good' yet. What i've done is get a cheap £5 one to tide me over until a Martin Fields screen protector is released.

Having seen one on an iPhone4 recently they really are excellent.
