the price you pay on ebay is lots! - you can get a cash back contract one brand new for cheaper and just pay the contract off.

Put own sim in, make a call. IMEI blocking happens at "network registration" when a phone tries to join the network (so it can understand where it is, what services it can do etc...). If you make a call you're all good.

It's not for me but my Brother in law, I bought one on O2 when they were £399

hmm so I just need to make sure that the device accepts my SIM and should mean its not IMEI blocked.

until they do an insurance claim the next day and it gets blocked.

make sure he's a trusted seller as well, if you google it you will see people who buy 2nd hand and then it gets blocked. quite rare if you consider the amount of phones sold i would imagine, but a good feeback and lenthy ebay service would be advised criteria

My main account is gmail, so I am using the gmail app, rather than the Samsung e-mail app. Is there a way that the g-mail icon can update and show unread count? At the moment I just have to look at the notifications in the top, which I don't always spot. Should it beep or something when I have a notification?

there was some sort of app/widget for unread email account, but i keep keep an eye out on the top for the email icon

great new, my replacement handset arrived today and is with my wife!

so just gonna have to root and what not, anyone tried doing a phone back up and restore with the sammy software? cos i clearly need to get my new phone setup as the current blocked one

Nearly got my other half to pick one up today, but resisted. Thought with the sensation coming soon it may lower the price of these, or they may put it on a £399 again.

Was so hard to resist though, stuck on iphone for a lil longer

i purchased beautiful widgets and that has one, i recommend the app as it has loads of clocks and weather bits like the HTC ones, and 1000's of skins to download

i have a little 1 x 1 widget, but if you play around and 'add widgets' there is some there or you can replace the weather i think

Best Music player to replace the default Samsung one? The default one is quite good, just wondering if anything free betters it. The stock one show up in notifications as well, so any replacement would have to do that.

Should we create a separate thread for Galaxy S2 applications? This thread and the other Android thread are too long!!

Well I dont think a SGS II applicaitons thread would be good as they are stock Android apps, so any phone can use them, so maybe best to use an existing Android apps thread.

I will, however, make another SGS II sub-thread later today for themes and cusotmisations etc.
