****The Official Samsung Galaxy S II Thread***

Got mine today from P4U on orange and what surprised me the most was that my current provider three accepted i wanted the pac code within 3 mins of calling O.O and got it in a text 5 mins later, must be a record for them xD

Three didn't try to keep you or offer you a decent deal on the SGSII?

Just to confirm, my SGS2 (delivered from P4U this morning) is unbranded and unlocked.

I suspected that hopefully this would be the case. They aren't going to be branded because the networks have to do it directly thus why it'll take an extra month for them to get them.

And I cant see any reason why they would be locking them either for an early release, and it seems they aren't! :D

I want mine, and I hate you all.

Jabbs, I like your Chameleon, it looks like its made of plastic and then one of its eyes moves :p Has it got bigger hands than you by any chance? :D

Can you please post a couple of pics of the box too?

Just got the one from P4U through sadly now I have to phone and get it sent back, can't understand why they couldn't cancel the order even though it hadn't been dispatched its beyond me.

I called Expansys again and they are still adamant that it contains the NFC chip, even though I pointed out that they can't advertise 8.49mm and state that it has the NFC chip because it is not possible

ah still haven't placed my order as i can't decide who to go with. voda has sure signal so i will def get signal in my house, but it costs a lot more and it doesn't mean i'll get signal in any one elses house.

tmobile is so cheap but switching to use tmobile on my hero (i'm on orange) the reception appears poor. now i think if they join orange completely so they act as one or if i'm with tmobile perhaps the phone will pick it up better if it's the default choice? they are so much cheaper.

orange is kind of middle ground but still fairly close to voda in price. reception hasn't been great but perhaps it's getting better with tmobile and a better mobile phone, they offer orange wednesday which i use (though can use family/friends numbers) but it'll be a pain as i need to keep my number for work so i'll have to work out how to keep it on new contract.

does anyone know if this'll work. say i take contract with tmobile from mobiles.co.uk, find reception is poor in first 7 days, so then return just the sim and exchange for a voda contract but keep the phone with me? a lady from buymobiles told me i can't use the phone if i am to return it before 7 days :s

Where do some of you people live? I haven't experience signal problems on any network (including Three) since the early days of mobiles in the late 90s!

me neither until android which is why it shocked me to find i'm still having problems with reception even in 2011. i'm in guildford. the only thing i can say though is i've noticed it now that i use the phone for work which has me travling around surrey a lot in and out of houses all day so i'm often in someones house working with phone on a windowsill trying to get any reception possible.

I put a gods or the arena episode on in mkv format and it was fine 720p but there is a limit to file size, I tried a 1080p of it and it was 4.98gb and it wouldn't load it says its to big for the file system.
Iirc the memory card/internal storage are in FAT. So has a 4GB size limit.
