****The Official Samsung Galaxy S II Thread***

It will never last this long again lol

Is amazing at the difference though with email sycn on/off though

What are your exact settings to get that kind of life then (aside from obviously not using the phone much), in terms of ROM and major settings etc?

but when i open some apps such as internet , ect , they stay open and i've find the battery to drain slightly quicker.

Do a Google for "should I kill apps on my android". The general consensus is that open apps in the background do no use battey, they sit in RAM until used again. Its CPU cycles that drain the battery, so if the apps are inactive then your battery should not be affected.

Im running 2.3.4 KG1 - What settings do you mean?

Screen is on about 70%, I dont use adjust screen brightness or anything like that. If theres any other settings you mean... Let me know, and ill let you know :)

Just like email synching etc and other general data grabbing settings/programs. :)

Well I've got email sync switched off. That was the point of the test or had you forgotten? :p

"background data" is on but "auto-sync" is off. I dont think there are any other data grabbing settings?

Dont get me wrong.. As soon as I've finished with this test, Email sync will go back on.... and ill go back to 2 days at most lol.

Any idea if i can limit which contacts are sync'd with my Mondeo's Bluetooth kit? I only need around 10 but have hundreds as its syncing all of my twitter contacts too!

Not sure I personally would bother with it to be honest... my phone now id fast and rock stable... and I dont have much need for most of those features. I mean... private browsing on my own passworded phone? Not quite sure I see the point really!

Some of them I don't see the point at all, others like the lock screen gestures could be useful :)

I agree. While CM7 is very useful for phones that come with standard crappy ROMs (such as the Orange San Francisco, here CM7 made a big difference), there is less point for high-end phones like the SG2 as the recent stock ROMs are pretty good anyway (if you strip some crap away).
That said, it's good to have the choice of course.

well don't you just love voda,

upgraded last week to the sg2 for 25 squids a month and a tenner for the phone, 100 mins unlimited text 500 meg data.anyway phone packs up,
(wont read my Sim card for some reason) but Sim still works in my magic,
they said i could have the sensation if i paid 99 squids for the phone and upgrade my contract to 35 smackers a month. that's an extra 330 quid. lol
so i said no thanks just send me a new sg2,they said the sensation is a much better phone than the sg2. i said really.

Well they would say that, Sensation sales quote needs meeting as it's a bit lacking at the moment :p

Yeah knew that already and posted the video a page or 2 back.

CM7 Nightly will go live very soon.

Yep, I was aware you'd posted the video, but just wanted to post that bit from the link about certain things not fixed yet, meaning it may take a while before it's released. Personally, I like the phone features as stock, and with launcher pro added I have no real desire to change roms. Only thing that really interests me is anything that will improve battery life through usage. Idle time however is very good. I'm willing to bet that once cyanogen 7 is out for the SGS2, people will be complaining about battery drain, but let's hope that's not the case.

Ordered the wife the samsung sg2 after hearing all the reports about how good it is etc
I got a 24 month contract with it 900mins UL texts 500mg data £25 a month and paid £23 for the phone
not the best deal out there but my wife is happy as she used go go over her 600mins a month of her Desire so upto 900 mins should be fine - so looking forward to it arriving tomorrow
