I'd sooner sidegrade to a Galaxy Nexus and go custom ROM if the SIII looks anything like that

Not when it comes to people interested in phones, but the big sales figures (general public) will happily go for a HTC device.

They'll lose a lot of sales though if they don't have it out sooner rather than later.

It won't be as easy this time around. HTC seems to have improved in a lot of area's that they were weak in last year. Screen's have reached a point where they aren't going to improve much. If Samsung use either a 4212 or 4412 SoC then their SoC might be worse than tegra 3, or at best slightly better. If they are using a higher clocked Mali 400 then the GPU's will be similar. However if they managed to sneak A15 cores and/or a T-604/658 or 543MP2 GPU then they will have a very decent paper advantage.

I dont think samsung have anything to worry about, everyone I know that has a HTC said they wont be buying another as they've all had problems with them.

have been waiting patiently for a new phone (originally thought about the Nexus) and have considered holding out for the SGS III but tbh am tempted with the HTC One X now.... *sigh* is it me tho or does the one X have dedicated buttons at the bottom of the handset? I thought the next ICS phones were going to have buttons integrated into the screen itself - do we know if the SGS III will have said dedicated buttons or screen integrated ones?
My desire has been flawless for nigh on two years, am seriously looking at the one x as an upgrade as the s3 looks to be quite a ways off.
Only thing putting me off one x is tegra 3 that people keep saying is rubbish? Want a phone capable of running some decent looking games etc.
One of the things i am glad of, the physical buttons to go home/back etc are so useful i really dont see why people want rid of them.
