***The Official Samsung Galaxy S III Thread***

I am surprised there is so much interest in the one x, the one S seems to be the better performer (SoC wise) to me but it does miss some of the nicer spec points of the one X (card slot ,screen etc). I've been out of contract since Jan, but i'm going to sit it out and see what Samsung come up with. After all, a few months more waiting when choosing something that I intend to keep for 2 years seems like a fair sacrifice.

It won't be as easy this time around. HTC seems to have improved in a lot of area's that they were weak in last year. Screen's have reached a point where they aren't going to improve much. If Samsung use either a 4212 or 4412 SoC then their SoC might be worse than tegra 3, or at best slightly better. If they are using a higher clocked Mali 400 then the GPU's will be similar. However if they managed to sneak A15 cores and/or a T-604/658 or 543MP2 GPU then they will have a very decent paper advantage.

No matter what the Exynos in the SGS3 it will be better than Tegra 3. Better memory bandwidth, 32nm die, faster GPU, overall better power efficiency, better video encoder for video camera etc.

Tergra 3 has only just caught up to the 4210.

thebandit - the One S doesn't not have a microsd slot - and has a pentile screen.

Only thing putting me off one x is tegra 3 that people keep saying is rubbish? Want a phone capable of running some decent looking games etc.

I suggest doing some research and coming to a decision yourself, yourself rather than listening to whatever people tell you. :)

In black... immeasurable levels of WANT.

It looks very credible for some reason, that agency is a PR company, previously done works for Samsung, rumours state an event pinned in for March 22nd, however is this pushed back to May 22? Even the accuweather app has weather synced on for May 22nd lol!

Interesting design and love it!

Look at all the WB reference here:

It seems more credible to me as well.

I think that is a really nice design (from what I can see). What is that at the bottom, looks like a speaker on the front? Can't be a microphone.

In time for the Olympics! London launch anyone?

Samsung’s relationship with the Olympics began in 1997, when it signed a TOP (The Olympic Partner) contract with the IOC, which has since been extended until 2016. The company is now one of 11 category-exclusive Worldwide TOP Partners for the London 2012 Games, the most expensive level of Olympics sponsorship.
Samsung has also been a Paralympics partner since the 2006 Torino Winter Games. It extended this deal in early 2010, to include the 2012 Games in London.
Last year, A&R was selected to handle the company’s global smartphone comms after winning its international corporate assignment in 2009. Weber Shandwick, meanwhile, oversees Samsung’s global visual display and its North American corporate and consumer electronics business.

A thousand times of the above!!

Also nice to see they've updated the Gingerbread look that they've given ICS on the S2 with a more ICS feel with that theme too. I like, I like a LOT! If that's defo final then that means all I will want is root and nothing else to theme as IMO that looks brilliant.

Edit*
That bezel won't be chrome, that will be the ceramic part...

A physical camera key? And I thought the rumour was no buttons? I'm still hoping we'll have an announcement this month for a release in April. Definitely wouldn't be disappointed if it looked like that.

Not easy to tell from that photo of a photo but it's probably built into the ceramic bezel like the microphone is at the bottom.

Power button position is no different to the S2...
