***The Official Samsung Galaxy S III Thread***

Hmm, I should probably switch my Amazon order to UR Mobile, no?

And congrats to mrk for getting it. Thanks for the piccies. Blue's worth the wait for me.

I missed my delivery today because 3 failed to let me know they had stock of blue, so I will have to pick mine up from some DPD warehouse in the morning..

My friend was lucky enough to be in at the time his was delivered - data speed on 3 (one plan) is pretty ****** epic, check it out:

Ripped the screen protector off as it was very annoying. It was not covering the entire front and my finger feeling the edges all the time was very annoying.

I'm going to get Martin Fields screen protector, one has been on my S2 for 12 months and no issues. Its so smooth as well!

That shade looks like the one that dissapointed me when I first saw it at Westfield. Sorry but I don't like that.

Am happy for you though mrk :)

Much nicer than white in my opinion.White just looks bland in my eyes. I love the brushed effect and the way it looks different colours in different lights. Also, i just prefer darker phones. My only gripe is that the home button is a different colour. Also, i think it would look even better if the trim was actually silver and not blue/silver.

It is all so subjective anyway.

You lot are way too obsessed with the colours, especially when you're going to cover most of it with a case anyway. :p

i wont be covering it with a case. Just kept my Desire in a pouch for the last 2 years and that is what i will be doing for this as well.

My girlfriend has the S3, and she is having problems with picture quality. I don't have the phone to hand at the moment, but I'm assured that the quality is set to superfine and highest resolution. Every photo she takes is just not sharp. What settings can I check? Could it be a faulty/defective camera unit?

It’s unclear why Samsung decided to change the pins used for the HDMI connection.

So, if you want to connect a Galaxy S III to an HDTV you will need to buy an MHL cable specifically designed to be used with the phone.

Answers himself in the next line... :p

Great pictures mrk. Both phones look great and whatever colours people decide to get the S3 they'll be onto a winner.

Funny though how the Pebble Blue changes colours in different lighting conditions. My S3 is yet to exhibit the colours that your S3 shows in your pictures!

Either way I'm really pleased that I bought the Pebble Blue version, it's all a matter of people's taste in the end. I've just got back from work and I'm setting up the S3. I can't believe how fast it is.

Coming from a S2 > Galaxy Nexus > One X > One S and finally settling on the S3 the phone definitely is top of the android phone league. Samsung have outdone themselves with the phone. Anyone who is in doubt whether to get the S3 or not should pull the trigger and get one...you won't regret it!

Tonight has been a lesson in why I will never be considering another apple phone.

Downloading 720p movies onto my phone.
Using my phone as a UPnP media server so my PS3 can play the movie on the tv
Using the phone normally as it continues streaming over wifi to the PS3

Genuinely useful things like this is the reason that apple didn't get my money this time

Android really is amazing :p

I've turned off all the visual flare from Samsung, none of this pebble water ripple horse **** and enabled the normal lockscreen and for those missing sliding the notification bar to slide, install QBright from the Play Store and add a shortcut to the lockscreen. Now when you want to change brightness, simply lock the screen, wake the screen and run QBright. really is easy and quick.

Also, nice to have a 5x4 grid that's usable, I need to find a bigger calendar widget though :D
