***The Official Samsung Galaxy S III Thread***

Colleague is sitting next to me with a white device and im sold on it... looks very classy, theres no crummy colour differences at different angles, and the home button fits perfectly. It looks more premium than the blue imo, and scratches wont show on it so easily.

White is for iSheep - Blue is the colour die hards waited for:p

How can stop going to the widget page on nova launcher?

I just want it to loop back to the start first page of the apps list?

I want to try out the CPU setting.. But I'm one of those people that wants to save battery, but doesn't want to forfeit any of the goodies. :D

I doubt changing the CPU is going to save you much battery. The screen is the major battery hog and when in idle (deepsleep) the CPU collapses and takes up next to no power regardless of what frequency it is set to.

You can do a test by changing up battery to 100% and after 1 hour screen time what percentage the battery is on, with your different CPU settings. Not the most scientific but gives you an idea that CPU settings don't affect the battery much.

To save battery:
- set screen to low brightness
- reduce or delete sync hungry apps (facebook, google+)
- Use wi-fi as much as possible over 3G
- have good reception

After hearing nothing from vodafone, I thought Id pop into my local store and see if they knew what was going on.
Not only did they have my S3, but they have had it since Fri!!
Id be hacked off if it wasn't for the fact I have a lovely new shiny toy :p:p

It is so fast!

Lovely bit of kit: :D

Nova Launcher is awesome, NL Prime offers so many options it's unreal, as mrk previously stated Go Launcher was the best but Nova Launcher has surpassed it.

Does anyone know how to change the top bar so the battery and reception icons can be changed to a blue colour without rooting the phone?

I guessed as much. I'm not really willing to alter my screen brightness which is about 60%. I have Facebook, twitter, Gmail, pulse and whatsapp all syncing, and I want them all running. Battery is lasting long enough so far though. Text input on the ics browser+ is very annoying though, know of any other browsers as fast as it?

It completely depends on what you're doing. If you're gaming then 1.4GHz is used exclusively, dropping that to 1GHz using power saving means your games still run just as fast but the power drain is less; Saves battery.

On this phone it will differ slightly due to the new nature of the CPU but on previous dual core phones, underclocking has been proven to increase battery time, even a small amount is satisfactory if the experience isn't compromised, on the S3 that's certainly the case.

The screen does use a lot of power, but this way you're helping the battery by giving the CPU some slack. 1GHz vs 1.4 generates less heat as well when doing intensive things.
