***The Official Samsung Galaxy S III Thread***

Yes, the auto adjust screen power does make a small difference, but the colour tone setting in the video player just produces its very own set of ugly colour effects that really don't help it look any better, unfortunately.

I left mine on default for a first few days as I thought natural was just too washed-out to use even given its more faithful colour reproduction in photos. However, once I started watching more videos I just couldn't put up with the over-saturation of standard mode. It just looks awful for video imo.

Perhaps the JB update will bring us some more options. One can but hope...

What's the score on the flip cases, the white genuine samsung one looks nice enough but on the rainforest it's got a pretty bad rating, saying it doesn't lock and the color comes off.

What about Dynamic? That's what I'm using, seems the best of both worlds, though I don't watch much video.

I went straight for the Natural colour profile on mine and find it looks fine for everything. I tried the rest again last week and they all looked terrible. What killed it for me was how over saturated the WhatsApp icon (among others) looked on Standard compared to the Natural profile.

I don't find any aspect of my phone looks washed out or dull using the Natural profile.

No, dynamic is even more saturated than standard! If you don't watch video you probably wouldn't notice. I find more saturation can actually look better for other things (well, photos are heavily over-saturated, but with nothing to compare to you might not notice too much), and it's especially nice for displaying a really vibrant looking home-screen. It's just completely horrible for video (imho).

I think I'm finding something a little bit similar in that switching back now I also think all the other modes look wrong. I guess I'm getting used to the natural mode display, but for me I still feel it's washed-out outside of video or photo viewing.

Perhaps it's just a matter of my vision adjusting after initially getting used to (and being wowwed by) the lively, saturated display out of the box.

I hope so anyway, because now I'm at the stage where no display setting actually looks good to my eyes... :(

I suspect they are waiting on the next iPhone release to grab some of the headlines the same day or around the same day.

FF - Use Titanium Backup to backup your phone. I have mine setup to do it once per week which it saves to the SD card (not the phone memory) in case anything happens.

If my phone b0rks then I can get a new S3 and just restore the backup to get started again.

Excellent perfect thank you! :)
