***The Official Samsung Galaxy S III Thread***

Its on automatic so the phone does itself. However the phones had its screen off most of the day, infact the battery went down by 15% on idle!? Shall I manually set the brightness to something lower?

Press the screen row (on the screen with the percentages readout) and let us know the screen on time.

Going by the image above, your screen is really draining the battery as it has used nearly the same amount of power as everything else put together. Its actually drained about 20 percentage points off your battery over 8 hours.

Also, your phone seems to be awake for quite a big section near the end where the screen and WiFi are off....

To put it in perspective, my phone has went from 94% to 84% in total over 4.5 hours.

Screen time on is 2h 4m 51s

I have gmail polling but don't know how often cant see the settings. And I've also got Facebook polling every hour.

EE is having 1GB caps on 4G so whats the point I think I'll just get the normal S3.

Seriously? Are you sure?! That's hilarious.

Also, I think I know why Samsung are being slow with the Jelly Bean update - the battery life just isn't great at the minute.

60% after 2 hours screen time and 6 hours odd standby is pretty good, really. You won't do much better than that.

You also have to take into account what you were doing as well when the screen was on (web browsing uses more battery than watching a video for example), and if it was in a bright area (so the auto brightness was higher).

How can I reset the stats and graph? Im going to lower the brightness, leave wifi on but not use my phone and see how much the battery drains.

GMail is push mail so it doesn't poll anything hence no settings to see.

But the reviews said the battery life on the S3 is the best after iPhone's.... clearly it's not

The S3 seems to be good for 4-ish hours of screen time over normal use i.e. phone, net, video, music etc. Some people say "I got 2 days out of my S3" and others will say "I only get 12 hours" but ultimately they seem to have roughly the same screen on time (for same brightness levels).

Not sure what the IP4 screen on time max is... Anyone?

Anyway, what did you expect out of the battery?

If won't reset until it's been charged to 100% iirc

I think anything above 90% seems to do it. I had mine plugged in till 94%, unplugged and it reset.

Guys

Just changed my rom and I swear I did an email settings and data backup via titanium pro and I can see the backup there but when I restore its asking me for the settings again :(

Have I missed something?
