I believe so. But you may able to argue that a phone priced ~£500 at release should have a life span of more than 2 years if treated well

Haha I know the feeling. Gone are the days when I used to keep a phone for like 3 years.

Well my pristine, perfectly looked after S3 has got a crack on it. Right above the charging port.

I am sat here using it during my lunchbreak when I noticed a large crack on the bezel just under the home button going all the way down to the port itself. Absolutely cheesed off, as I have never been happy about samsung plastic in the first place.

I was going to sell this on but I just know the chap who did want it, will not after this.

I had this happen recently too, it seems it's a somewhat common problem. What makes me more angry is that my phone is in pristine condition and has never been dropped! Out of warranty too I think, but from doing a bit of research on the net it seems that Samsung/the UK providers are not replacing the phone with this fault, claiming it's been dropped.

Started using mine without the rock case on. Feels so much thinner and lighter, forgot just how nice this phone feels.

Ooooh... risky business mate!

There will come that one time that it slips from your fingers and clatters to the pavement to get peppered with dents and scratches - then you'll say to yourself "why, why did I take the case off!?"

I would use mine without the Rock cover but i hate the way that the camera would get damaged/scratched by just laying the phone down.

Surely if its a known issue with the sudden death it doesn't matter what software is on?

I use the official Samsung car phone holder, works very well and would recommend it to anyone.

Sudden death has been fixed by updates from samsung so as long as you are using the latest CM or Wanam then you should be covered. Even if you do suffer from Sudden death then Samsung will repair/replace anyway as the device wont turn on!

What do you reckon to a refurb phone?
Surely samsung will decline any warranty claims if its been opened by a 3rd party?

Concerned about that as the missus has just had hers replaced under insurance.

Are Samsung aware of this issue and if so as its a known issue are they repairing outside of 12 month warranty also?

Samsung has a 2 year warranty on phones, it's apple/RIM who are selfish sods and only do 1 year.

Most probably the screen lock bug fix and some other minor ones. It seems a bit faster than before.

Can some on recommend some good cases for the S3? I have an official rock case at the moment but it's a bit knackered now. I fancy a change so am looking for something else.

What makes should i look out for?
