**** The Official Samsung Galaxy S10 Family Thread ****

Sell and get JayBirds. They come with Comply memory foam tips that fit better than any other tip type, and they sound excellent too.

Finally got my buds, without first receiving an email from Samsung about them being shipped.

Now I need to decide; do I sell them, or give them a go and hope they sit properly in my ears? :) (I dont normally get on with these in-ear headphones, so not having high hopes for them).

Don't sit properly how? Too loose or too tight?

Normally I would agree with Mrk, I tend to use headphones with comply tips but I have to say I've gotten on with my buds a lot better than I expected.

Just ordered a S10+ (international version for dual sim), any 'must do's' for the initial setup? Any bloatware that needs to go? Settings that are a must?

Furthermore, I always install swiftkey and NovaLauncher, anyone had issues with them on the S10's?

Just bought an S10 here in Hong Kong. I know it's not quite as cheap as eglobal is sometimes, but I got the phone, a case (in the box!), a wireless charger and a power bank all for £588.

It makes UK pricing look absolutely abominable.

Doesn't seem to be a region lock on the phone which is good. My EE and Three SIMs are working fine.

Did you try the different wing thingy sizes? I found they really worked and stopped me having to worry about the ear tip size beyond comfort

No - I have only based my findings on the in-ear headphones that came with the S10 - I gathered the Buds would be similar. ? Those ofcourse do not have different wings.

Oh man the buds are so much better than those, I see why you wouldn't want to use them now lol!

For what it's worth I'm somewhat in the industry and have a lot of headphones, in my in ear collection I've got stuff like Jabra sport pulse and coach, AKG N200s, a bunch of Shures, Jays Q Jays etc etc. I also have some of the second gen Icon X.

My buds have just replaced the lot as my go to for work and the gym.. personally I think the killer bit is the weight, I struggled to make use of the Icon X because they wouldn't stay put (even when I bought some comply true wireless tips) and kept basically going on standby when they thought they weren't in my ears. Then for the gym I actually wound up using some motorola neckbuds because I didn't like how the cord on the jabras kept sort of moving round one side of my neck and sticking when I was sweaty.

The buds have taken all that away, they stay put because there's no weight pulling them away so I don't need them jammed in solidly which gives me a headache eventually but they still provide a perfectly good enough seal to be basically noise cancelling (using on a train right now at full pelt and I can hardly hear it) and I never have to worry about cables. I've actually gotten to the point where I forget they're in lol.. like I just live in a world of music.

Could I get better sound quality? Totally and I know what it sounds like, I've got some Shure SE530s and the Q-Jays which are both reference with memory foam so I'm not fooling myself to think they're gods gift to sound but I also don't recognise the weak bass argument. Using with spotify etc is totally fine. More than loud enough and using the gear app you can adjust the EQ anyway if you want to go bass heavy. I've happily last an afternoon in the office smashing through some spreadsheets to Andy C, more than bassy enough for that.

The convenience of the buds trumps that for me.. I guess that's why you see so many people using airpods.. they must sound horrible but the convenience over everything wins.

Oh and the wireless charging case = win.

Considering you'd struggle to get much more than say £60/70 out of the MM looking at it I'd at least try them and then sell them as "new" on ebay if you really can't get on with them.

Post over on HUKD, buds can be picked up at O2 for £98.99 through O2 priority both online and in store. Granted they can be purchased cheaper second hand but a decent price for brand new from high street store.

Thanks for taking the time to answer. I might give them a go after all then. I just didn't want to open them if they felt like the wired in-ear headphones that come with the s10, considering the drop in price once opened.

I thought I'd miss the notification LED but I have actually forgot all about it until today when thinking about the differences to all my previous phones. It genuinely doesn't matter to me that there is none on the S10 now.

I've gone for it and opened the headphones. :) Im glad I did, you are right, they are nothing like the wired in-ear headphones that come with the s10 - they sit much better - and I've not even played around with the different tips/wings, the default one seems to sit fine. Thanks for recommending I try them out.

You're welcome :)

How's everyones factory fitted screen protector holding up, I'm just about ready to take mine off after getting it on launch.

Really showing some scratch marks. Anyone gone without yet and how is screen doing naked?

Yep, I've gone naked on 2 and they've been fine.

Had my S10+ for 5 days, installed swiftkey and NovaLauncher on it which I also had on my S7 and S9. No problems so far.
