**** The Official Samsung Galaxy S22 Family Thread ****

Another battery test which is useful, but confirms the s22 ultra is pretty poor compared to the s21 ultra and other phones. This is the exynos version of both too!

WOW that iphone 13 pro max battery life

When i bought my Samsung Note 9 the battery life was far better then the iphone X which was up against it at the time of it release , How the tables have turned..

Am looking at buying a new phone this year as the screen on my note 9 is cracked but i still haven't made my mind up if am going buy a S22 Ultra or iphone 13 pro max

I have never owned an iphone before but am worried about apple crappy software if it going be anything like my ipad that has lots of problems even trying do simple things like backing up files to a USB stick

I got £570 trade in for my Note 20 ultra against the exclusive Red S22 Ultra. I probably would have gone for another colour if they knocked the trade in down a bit.

I got the same price on my S10+ (£370) against Graphite as well - had the trade-in been less, I would have gone for black.

I'm due an upgrade on my Note 20 Ultra. I'm really torn between getting an S22 Ultra or trying an iPhone 13 pro max. I'm really not happy that yet again we get shafted with an inferior SOC on the S22U.

Apple worked some voodoo with the 13 pro max, they delivered a 3 hour increase in battery life in a single generation

another battery test: the s22 ultra has slightly lower life than s21 ultra

I actually feel like the 13 promax has too much battery life and it would have been better if they used a smaller battery to save weight. I've had mine since October and I've not yet once run out of battery and my screen on time per day is anywhere from 7 to 11 hours a day

Disappointing battery life got worse, had a real love/hate relationship with the battery life on former Samsungs.

Mines already being shipped so cannot cancel the order, I'm going to see how I get on.

S21 Ultra was very close to perfect apart from log light photography, Note 20 was brilliant so I'm hoping the S22 Ultra will sort the S21 Ultra camera issue which it appears to have done combined with the Note 20 which is quite frankly one of the best phones ever.

Once I've debloated and it's bedded in I will see how it is battery wise.

iPhone has lots of flaws (mainly IOS related) also but the camera is very consistent and the battery is immense.

If you've never tried IOS then it's a completely different animal to Android. Sure things have got better over the years but still there are restrictions but you can't knock them for optimisation, battery life and grunt!

I'm coming from the Note 20 ultra also and expect to see some improvements. Check out the supersaf video on the Note 20 and S22 ultra here ...

I think my main concern from those review is the poor action shots, the rest is not a bother for me, I am used to daily charging but the reason for the upgrade is to have a bettter zoom and capture action shots when away at rugby with sprog, I have no time for carrying around a seperate camera. The Note 10 does OK but go beyond 3x images get ropey, I was hoping this was the solution, sounds like it struggles, can't be worse than the Note 10 surely?

I just wonder what the battery performance is like on the s22. Seems that all the focus is on the ultra but I really don't see the point of a phone that big.

I'm debating cancelling my in-store purchase if I don't get on with the phone I'm withouta phone vs online were I can have few days playing with it before sending off my trade in

Just ordered. 256gb phantom black s22 ultra for 34 a month on the upgrade programme. It's got to be better than my Doogee s59pro :D however the one thing I will miss is the 10500mah battery of the Doogee!

Just after a S22+ battery test really, make sure it's not randomly terrible and I might go for it.

Lucky you...Did you buy direct from Samsung UK?

I can't see it being too bad to be honest, Tom the tech chap seemed impressed, I know it's early days and it's probably on review software.

I just want to see if it compares to the Snapdragon, it doesn't bother me about the iPhone as I didn't buy that, it just narks me that we don't usually get the same performance in what is essentially supposed to be the same phone.

ordered direct from samsung 512gb S22 ultra with trade-in for my s21+ 256gb and 10% discount + quidco 5%. Not bad for a flagship on launch arrives on 26th. The take-up from the local samsung store was poor no one was interested. Manager kept telling me you will be at back of queue when I asked for my deposit refund as I did not want to wait on store for transfer process. He was a muppet  I guess most people are ordering directly from Samsung to avoid such people :D
